5 star review for a specific incident, but they seem to have a good culture (at least in the checkout area).Did not catch a name, but the attendant for the self-checkout did an excellent job this evening taking care of a customer. The customer had spilled blueberries all over the floor during a busy time, but this attendant did an amazing job at helping clean up while also assisting the customer with getting a replacement all the while being kind & reassuring.

I don't understand why the meat department always has a bad attitude when you make a request for a custom cut. I went the other day to ask for a steak for my birthday and the clerk gets upset with me asking and walks me over to the weekly specials case and says "this is what we have." I asked the other clerk for a custom cut and he reluctantly explained what was available for a custom order. In the end, the first clerk argued with him over having to open another bag of meat. Eventually my steak got cut, but bringing it home to cook it ,they didn't cut it properly out of spite, the grain orientation was way off and it didn't come out. Super disappointing having known Kroger and subsidiary brands' reputation for service and quality.

Jayla, Noah and Cat are amazing workers here. They always make me laugh and help me find what I need. They all three deserve a raise.

Not sure what drove me to review a grocery store but once I saw that others had issues with the "checkout policeman," some dark force took over my body and here we are.I'm going to start with some things that ruffle me about King Soopers/Kroger in general and then specify. First, KS is becoming more and more dystopian. Almost every available checkout is a self-checkout, so alongside those higher grocery prices and bag fees, you also have to do the work that was once included in the cost of a visit to the store. Two, said dystopian technology at each KS store is pretty much designed to make you feel criminal. You can no longer mute the incredibly loud self-checkout lady so she screams at you throughout your transaction. The regular self-checks are so inaccurate so be prepared to get "employee assistance" at least once because it won't register something you scanned or weighed. Now, into some Bergen Parkway specifics. If you're going to go, go at night. The younger staff is much friendlier, willing to chat, answer questions. During the daytime, unless you're doing a pickup, you're liable to encounter some incredibly disgruntled, unhappy people. I'm sure it's not a blast to work at KS, especially at an older age, seeing jobs that were once filled by people being replaced by automated conveyor belts and self-checkouts. Also, with increased cost of living, working in such a public-facing place has to be hard. That being said, certain employees seem like they actively dislike the customers and treat us not only rudely but with actual hostility. This is where we meet the "checkout policeman" who, in his older age, moves incredibly fast to accost you and make you feel like a thief—my dude, I literally have my card out to pay for everything on the belt right now, I'm not trying to get the 80c vegetables for free right now. Then, he made sure to inform me why I was doing it wrong and why the machine had started correcting itself. So, ultimately, there was no need for him to come harass me, as the machine was already taking care of it, but he felt the need to anyways.Sir, do you get commission for each customer you make feel uncomfortable? Entering a KS already feels like wandering into a police state, what with armed guards, cameras everywhere, and self-checkouts that are so sensitive they'll accuse anyone of inappropriate activity for just about no reason. To add in the volunteer task force of overly involved KS employees is enough to make me never visit here during the daytime again.TL;DR, the checkout policeman ruins another experience.

Caught some attitude from the cashier but then he quickly redeemed himself by giving us the reward member discount. Decent selection of produce and proteins.

This is possibly the worst shopping experience of my life. I loathe this location, but left with little alternative as one of two grocery stores in town. You can’t even get down the aisle with a cart from all the side stacks, displays and merchandise everywhere, stockers, personal shoppers with giant carts, pallets coming through on pallet jacks, and the list goes on. Let’s not get started on the tragedy that is the self checkout. If we can’t do it without having to call an attendant 5 times, what is the point? I use it because your baggers are not trained to bag groceries correctly and everything is a hot mess when I unpack. You guys are doing a horrendous job with such a busy store. It has gotten worse the past 10 years I’ve had to shop here. I am a former grocery regional VP and I would have never put up with this mis management in any store. I guess it’s Safeway from now on even though they don’t have many things I want. Please do better.

If you want a good experience, simply avoid the day crew of regular workers 8-5. Looking at the reviews I am not the only person having a problem with "self checkout guy police". My stomach turns every time I have to deal with him, I avoid this store during the day as much as I can. Not the only worker I have had issues with on day staff.

Horrific experience at 916am 7-25-23 using self ckout 552...tall skinny male clerk kept staring at me as if I was stealing...double paid for items..using a mobility scooter...a blond woman customer patted him on the shoulder as he was staring as if to say his behavior was OK. Paid in cash!! Evergreen is not the mountains..it's the hills. City Markets are Kroger west of the Continental Divide !!

In my home area, Kroger Stores are known as Dillon's. The King Soopers in Evergreen is really easy to shop because the format is very similar to Dillon's. I can imagine that all Kroger owned stores would be very similar. It was a very minor annoyance that my Dillon's app didn't work, but downloading and installing the King Soopers app was Sooper easy. I have always enjoyed shopping at Kroger stores and this one was no exception. The people working here and the other customers are super friendly, but I have found that super nice people are normal in Evergreen.

I would give them zero stars if I could. I called the day before for a dozen custard filled topped with chocolate bismarcks for the next day in the morning. I got a dozen long johns 4 maple 4 white icing 4 chocolate. The guy was very rood and was like thats what you ordered so here you go. When I went to pay at the self checkout the helper stood behind us and did not explain himself and just said excuse me four times till we moved out of the way and put the donuts in the computer. All he had to do is tell us he had to put them in and there was not button for it. No one was helpful!!

Self- check out worker Paul, who claimed to be the manager, was very rude, and aggressively yelling at me, I mean yelling, that other customers were watching what is his problem, seriously!!! Since when this is ok?, when customer is asking for help and just because he doesn't want to help, he's yelling at people,? btw he was very rude to his coworkers as well.Someone needs to talk to him about hisanger issues , to be totally honest, I wasn't sure what's he going to do, I thought that he will physically attack me, not sure if I will shop there ever again, I'm just simply scaredDid I mentioned that I am customer of this store for many years....I never experienced behavior like this, people who don't have people skills, shouldn't be working with people, period.

I love this king soopers it is my favorite. Their produce is always fresh and full. The asiles are clear, and wide. The new produce layout makes alot of sense to me because when I'm shopping I can loop around and follow it to easily get my items. Richard is a pleasure to talk to and is very knowledgeable. 10/10 would shop there again.

One of the best stores I have ever been to. Great customer service and always full. Their produce department is the highlight of the store and I would not want to buy produce anywhere else. KT in produce is absolutely a delight to talk to. Their produce is always fresh and full. I love the placement of the banana tables and the dry run. The load bearing pole in front of the vegetable wall gives me a good chuckle every time I walk by it.
