After a confusing tax question arose I sought Barb's advice, which seemed to be sound and well-researched and resolved my issue. The problem was Barb never filed an extension on my behalf, took 6 months to file my return despite my timely submission of documents. When I got my federal tax bill I had incurred $1700 in penalties for late filing. When I politely asked Barb to clarify why there was no extension and why it took her 6 months to file my return, she ignored me for a month. She only replied when I formally disputed her invoice, never once explaining what happened, never offering any options for reducing my late fees.This was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced.

Terrible controlling employer, providing very little knowledge of what they are doing and poor management. They have a difficulty of keeping their employees. Low pay and no benefits.

My experience with Scripps Taylor and Associates has been life changing for me. I began working with STA when I was newly separated from my husband. I needed guidance on everything financial and Barb Scripps was someone who has helped every step of the way. She has helped me understand my very complicated financial situation, advised me on my financial future and was a key person in my court hearing. Now I rely on STA for preparing my taxes as well as all my bookkeeping and accounting needs. Scripps Taylor and Associates was a vital component during my divorce proceedings and they will continue be my accountants and financial advisors in the future.

I have had a very different experience with Scripps Taylor than the two reviews on this site. I've been using them for accounting advice and tax preparation for my small business for fourteen years and they have always been professional and provided what they promised and I expected.

Stay far, far, far away from this company. This company was hired to do our very small business taxes, in OCTOBER. They billed for hours of time and no taxes were prepared. They billed over $600.00 and did NOTHING but tried to get our business files into quickbooks, they couldn't figure it out even though all information was provided. They had 5 months. Nothing was done, we are no closer to a tax return and they left us in a lurch at tax season having paid over 600.00 in services before we fired them. They then wanted us to give them the numbers to do the tax return with, even though they had that all along and then told us 'of course we would be billed to do the return', again! We were billed all along, for a clerk to stare at the computer and try to figure out what to do. They led us to believe the return was closed to finished. They DO NOT know what they are doing. We plan to take them to court after tax season for a refund of the 'services' we paid for.

I've been in business for myself for 25 years. I ask Scripps and Taylor to help me with corporate tax and personal filings. They messed it all up. I wouldn't in my right mind recommend this firm. They couldn't event get my new address updated with IRS. They charge a big fee but come across life first year accountants. STAY AWAY.
