Beautiful but the food on the train is very expensive.$2.75 for a small coffee. $2.50 for ramen noodles.$20 for breakfast.$25 for lunch.Just bring your wallet.$3 for juice. They could use more comfy seats but Colorado is beautiful.

My daughter and I rode the train to Winter Park for lunch. It was a 2.5 hour ride that we could see the scenery and relax. She has not been able to travel or go anywhere since she became I'll, so she asked if we could go to Winter Park for lunch. The train ride was the best for us. A lot to see with no worries. The people on the train were friendly and in good spirits. Ten stars.

Some young boys selling ice cream and drinks for cheap. Please support them, they are earning money rather than causing trouble.

The train is out-dated, no doubt, but the views from Denver to here are spectacular. And the crew was consistently friendly, far more so than an airline crew.

Im normally all about this train. However after running over an hour late because we sat at the station, everyones boarded and twiddling their thumbs for 45 minutes. We finally start moving. Conductor apologizes for being over an hour late. Alright, stuff happens. Fine at least we are moving. My patience broke when they then fully stop again and talk about how they are going to "make up time" for another half hour.. JUST GO. You wont make any time up by sitting and talking about it. Gods.

We took the Amtrak from Denver to San Francisco and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable trips we have done... and we do travel a lot! Going through the Rocky Mountains was breathtaking! The dinners inside the train were very authentic, kinda like you see in the movies! We had a sleeper car, which we feel its a must for this trip. It is not a hotel, and you will definitely feel and hear the train, however, this is a must once in a life time trip, so deal with the night not being very comfortable. Have a bottle of wine ready in your cabin and you will be all set.

I recently rode the train from Union Station in Denver to Fraser. I was worried about on time departure/arrival but that was not an issue. We left Denver right on time and arrived in Fraser 2 minutes early. This was a very good experience. Comfy spacious seats, plugs to charge my phone, quiet ride, a delicious breakfast in the dining car, good service and great views. Because the leg was short there was no luggage service for me but I anticipated that and packed a bag I could easily manage on my own. I'd definitely ride it again.

Im a railfan, I didn't go on the train. But an Amtrak I saw had a nice staff. They seemed OK with me filming the train on the station platform, and one of the cars had an open door and I didn't even say hi, and then an Amtrak person did. I waved back. It is a good spot, since it is a straight track and you can see the train for a while, which goes you time to set up your camera. Winter park is still good, but there is a No Train Horn zone there. The resort is good since they blow their horn there. You will see Amtrak, Union pacific, and BNSF.

Catch the California Zephyr here to Denver or Glenwood Springs. Or parts beyond. One can easily walk to the free town bus system stop. Take it to the ski resort or around Winter Park and Fraser. The schedule is on the RideHop app. Type in 'lift'.The old and the new Ski Train parks on the siding here. It hangs out until time to go back to the resort and pick people up.
