“Our 30 year old quarterhorse was in urgent need of colic treatment on a stormy Sunday, of course! Dr. Shafer was on an emergency call on Glade Park but put us next and called and texted us about Cheerio's condition and arrival time. He gave a thorough exam and treatment and determined Cheerio would need endoscopy to check for throat cysts and IV for fluids which only can be done in Glenwood. He called Roaring Fork Vet for us and made all of the arrangements. As I write this Cheerio is out of danger and resting comfortably at Roaring Fork. Dr. Shafer called us and Roaring Fork to check on Cheerio's progress. We appreciated Dr. Shaffer's skilled care and guidance and his calm, compassionate treatment.”
