I’m a FirstBank customer and this is the 2nd and last time that I stop at this branch. Unless you like being around miserable bank tellers, just avoid it. The first time I stopped here, the tellers were complaining loudly about having to work and how close it was to quitting time and when it came my turn, I was turned away when I tried to open up a college savings account because it was too close to the bank’s quitting time. The 2nd time, I brought in my kid’s coins from his piggy bank and was rudely told that they doesn’t have a coin counter at the bank. The teller was clearly offended and put out by my simple request. Say what??!! Banks are literally in the business of counting money. Last I checked, coins were, in fact, money. Regardless, we were sent to a random place 5 minutes down the road. The rude tone in the tellers delivery is exactly why robots are taking over our jobs. I’d rather have dealt with a machine than be snapped at by a human teller. Just avoid going here. The tellers are clearly too lazy to deal with their customers.

I rarely write reviews, but seeing as tho this is a criminal matter I figure I should WARN ALL that go to this bank. My girlfriend recently had her wallet stolen out of her car in Arvada. She called First Bank Mills and spoke to a gentlemen name Jesus who assured her that her cards were canceled and the thieves would have no access. WRONG. They didn’t cancel them. The thieves were still able to make fraudulent charges at Maurice’s and Amazon after she was told the cards were canceled. That is the first red flag there is some culpability here as this was a blatant lie. Second red flag was, the lady who stole her cards and I.D. walked into the bank (Mills location) days later and withdrew another 600 dollars from her checking account by filing paperwork, forging her signature and talking to an employee. WHERE WAS THE I.D. CHECK??? This is insane negligence or there is something bigger going on here. We are seeking to retain counsel and will be pursuing legal means to get to the bottom of this. In addition I will contacting corporate, I hope to see some results from this as the branch has lost our trust. It’s not the money that matters at this point, it is the principle that they are to protect our assets and in this situation spectacularly failed to a degree where I now question whether this is an organized fraud ring with bank staff involved. Needless to say, DO NOT bank with this branch or these people if you care about your assets.Sorry for my rant…

I don't know why all the hate here ... These people have always taken care of me (not just this branch, multiple ones) this is the one I frequently go to and everyone is always friendly and helpful. Maybe all the people with 1 star reviews should learn respect and common courtesy.... You see, this goes both ways! Thank you 1st bank!!!

ATM machine malfunctioned and took my card. The tellers inside straight up said I'm screwed until the next time the service company comes to service the machine

Not just the Lakewood branch, 1st Bank needs to join the 21st century. None of the tellers have a computer in front of them, therefore no deposits will post immediately, not even a cashier's check (certified funds). The tellers still hand write each and every deposit slip. But, because all other stores, banks, etc are up-to-date tech wise, all withdrawal transactions (checks, debit card charges) are taken out of the account immediately. Also, 1st bank charges there customers $5 to cash a check from their own 1st bank account. BE SMART, take your money to another bank or credit union!
