On 5/12/23, I purchased a new head from MHC Kenworth, had my Mechanic Ryan Bradley at Western Colorado Fleet Services (WCFS) install it. With in 200 miles of driving, we started noticing issues with the engine. My driver stopped and checked all fluids, that is when he discovered it was pumping diesel into the oil. We returned it to WCFS, after inspection, Ryan discovered the manufacturer installed the injector cups improperly. Ryan immediately contacted MHC Kenworth at which point they told him warranty would cover it. He repaired the injector cups; we tested the truck again only to discover the problems with the head were worse than we thought. Ryan w/ WCFS ran a fuel dye test to determine where the fuel was leaking, he found a crack near one of the valve springs. At that point, we returned the Head to MHC Kenworth. On 6/9/23 Ryan spoke to David Withers parts mang at MHC Kenworth and he informed him that the warranty would cover labor, new bearings, gasket set and a new Head to put the truck back into service. Later that same day, they informed us they could not get another Head and indicated they would refund my money. MHC Kenworth delivered all the parts except for the Head to WCFS under warranty. Later Claiming it had no warranty. We purchased a new head from Peterbilt for $9389. Once this head was installed, we had no further issues with diesel in the oil. The engine now has blow by and burns oil which was caused by diesel fuel flooding the engine (caused by the head the MHC Kenworth sold me). MHC Kenworth claimed that the cracked head was caused by extreme overheating. We have an ECM printout that records any critical events that the truck would have had-it is clean and does not show any critical events. I will attach that document as well as all invoices. The Head had multiple issues from the beginning and should be covered under warranty. The damage done by this head to the engine of my truck is significant. If you need anything further please let me know. David Withers Parts manager and Luke Cole Branch Manager refuse to do anything to make this right and continue to keep giving me the run around!

They will charge you an arm and a leg to "fix" the issue and then charge you again when you can't even drive your rig off the lot because it isn't actually fixed. Go ANYWHERE else!

A few years ago, this was a good shop. Now it's a mess. I have a MHC lease and I'm forced to use this circus. The following is based on many visits over the last couple years.Be ready to hear phrases like "we got busy... " and "we got side tracked..." Do not trust them to do what they say they will. MAKE SURE you get a list of the items they are to fix. Every time I have multiple things to fix, its inevitable that only half make it to the work order. As the customer, you will need to stay on them so they don't get "side tracked" and forget to order parts or that your truck is even there. You will need to suffer through many transfers between parts and service to get the whole story and even then it's sketchy.Your success with the actual wrench turning is based on who is working on your truck. Most of the mechanics are part swappers and would rather you wait on back ordered parts, rather than actually fixing the problem. There seems to be at least one mechanic that will troubleshoot AND repair. Also, inspect your equipment thoroughly BEFORE leaving. I have found missing nuts/bolts, broken interior parts, rags and items reported as fixed that where not. They get two stars. One for being in Grand Junction and the other for not burning my truck to the ground.

Enjoyed all aspects of dealing with MHC Kenworth in their special build of a truck. From the purchase, to the custom welding and mechanical work involved in the new features - their team showed great knowledge, ability and communication. From my experience of their management, employees and technicians this outfit shows a lot of depth of right attitude and capability. The worlds of diesel can get pretty dim and MHC is a group that keeps the light. They don't make a big show about it, in fact there is a lot of humility and hard work. They can cost top dollar, but may also create efficiencies and dependability that bring in the bacon back the other way. They also came in reasonable and under other options on a variety of price point comparisons. This is a professional company that has sincere pride in quality of service. They want you to be truly pleased in business you do with them. My feeling was that they are treating people right in the philosophy that for continuing business, that is the only way.We are at a crossroads in US trucking these days as companies struggle to find and maintain enough qualified drivers and still big truck is the main freight mover. Diesel is big, pulls heavy and costs chunks to buy and maintain. Diesel is used across so many industries, the technology advances that have occurred over the past 20 years in tuning and a variety of performance aspects affect us all. Sometimes, in some buy or repair scenarios, you need professional handling of serious troubleshooting from review of options to working through the tech details. Kenworth Grand Junction shop works on a wide array of equipment, not only Kenworth. I have taken other trucks to them when electronic ghosts or other mysteries have boggled other repair vendors. I think part of their secret is respect for the science itself, and they treat you like a friend that is in the same family of torque vs weight on asphalt, oxygen consumption, horsepower by compression, and a nice tune on the radio...

On 09/04/21 while driving through Moab on my way to Denver, my check engine light come on along with a Derate message on my 16 KW T680. I called this dealership and talked to Stephen and let him know what was happening. I was able to make it to the dealership and Stephen checked me in right away. They took in my truck right away and diagnosed the problem. Luckily it was just a bad exhaust Pressure Sensor and they were able to fix it quickly. I was in and out in less than two hours. I was impressed by the professional and courteous service.
