Many more students with the sale, (120 vs 45) and there are some transitions issues as the Intel tec programs are seamed in. Salon Professional owners made sure thier students were protected as much as possible till thier graduation dates (till the end of tge year) when Intel tec fully sets the program. Aame great experience as before. Have been going here for years as has my bride of 38 years. Keep coming or if you are new check them out.

Lied and told me they were going to have a esthetics class and then months later told me they weren't going to have one. After me emailing and stopping by there multiple times for a response. Doesn't seem like a very reliable or communicative place.

I attended this school. I am choosing to use a pseudonym as to not leave any loose strings or risk affecting my career. The curriculum and classroom education is great and I left with great knowledge of hair cutting and color theory, but the way the owner and staff treat the students is less than decent. Only a couple of the educators seemed to genuinely care and listen when we had concerns about the way things were being run. Our schedules were extremely inconsistent causing frustrated clients and stressful situations. Everything was extremely disorganized and unprofessional behind the scenes. And any time a student tried to bring it up to someone higher up we were dismissed and gaslit and treated as though we were overreacting or throwing a fit, which some of the girls were, but some of us were just trying to bring genuine concerns to light. Either way, we were always talked down to and put in our place. I tried to have genuine, professional conversations with the higher ups about the issues at hand multiple times but nothing ever came of it. Nothing changed. Even if our concern was about something that could improve the client's experience, we were always dismissed. They just want to keep doing what they're doing and make their money without addressing issues. Even some of the educators know the issues and have admitted it to us, but they could never bring it up to the owners because their careers could be at stake. Literally every other student who went there would testify that they were treated this way and that things were poorly run. Long time clients know it, too. The school is dirty and santiation is not well regulated. The shampoo bowls were always broken or clogged. The washers and dryers were always nasty. Certain classes contained inconsistent information causing stress and confusion. There was a general lack of consistency concerning understanding of hair chemistry and color theory, the school policies, rules, etc. etc. You could ask every educator the same question about a school policy and each one would give a different answer, making it impossible to get accurate information without going to the owner, who, by the way, was hardly ever there. The list goes on. I came home every day with a new complaint about the way this school ran things. I eventually just had to suppress myself and lie down and take it until the year was up. I'm going to have to force myself to stop typing because there were so many issues. Graduating was the biggest weight of my shoulders ever. This place took a toll on my mental health. If you're considering attending this school, please weigh all your options. Sadly this is the "best" option within the area, but if you have other options, look into them. Very disappointed with my education experience at The Salon Professional Academy.

Should work more on different braiding techniques. French braids, cornrow braids, and fishtail braids are highly lacking in quality. The students do their best with what knowledge is given them. They need an optional course in specialty braids. But overall the place looks good and everyone is super friendly.
