I could leave out a food review and this place would be a five. Mountains, river, atmosphere, staff, etc. You are dissing your world experience if you come through this town and don't have a meal here. Stephanie was so awesome as our server, and we felt like we were the only table. Thank you, Stephanie. Garlic bread was amazing, and although I don't eat mushroom soup, my wife found both servings amazing. Wife had the salmon gnocchi and loved it. I had a bite, and I felt like it was caught right outside. I did the elk medallions and they were magnificent. I found not one flaw in any of the food. I WILL say that it is pricey, but not enough for me to demote it to a four star. It is pricey, but worth it, and everything in the town is a little pricey. You are paying a surcharge for beauty. Let's break this down. If you go to this place, you are in Grand Lake, so you recognize that things are a little more pricey. So, might as well have a view of the river, mountains, and everything else. So, plan out your trip, and you are losing out if you don't plan out 2 hours for a meal here. Definitely recommend and see you there.

Cutest restaurant ever with wonderful stream side views. Never miss eating here when I’m in Grand Lake!

Our visit to the restaurant was quite nice. We had called and made a reservation a few days in advance. The fireplace was roaring and the intimacy was rustic. The service was not rushed nor was it a packed house, it is also March and I'm sure the summer is an entirely different story. Our server I believe is one of the owners and she was attentive and anticipatory to our needs. The menu is very dairy forward and I think it's fair to let vegetarian/vegans know that unless they can make a special accommodation and sub olive oil or a plant based oil you may want to steer clear of dinner. I have heard and read additional reviews that said the lunch menu in the summer is really veg friendly. The way our food came out was timed perfectly and the pallet cleanser between the soup/bread and main was excellent (mango sorbetto). On our appetizer the gnocchi course was excellent flavor and a gooey rich almost what I would call a béchamel, as someone who is mostly dairy averse (aka intolerant) I was able to have some and not feel like I was going to die. The corn chowder again had excellent flavor and a nice spice to it, again very cream heavy, so I had to pass it off to my partner to finish. By far our favorite part of the meal was the main dishes, especially the elk. They prepare it medium rare and it was perfect. The whiskey cream sauce was not too heavy compared to the rest of the sauces. I highly recommend to anyone who has never tried elk to give this a go, the flavor is not gamey like venison. It's sweet and tender and has a hint of its favorite food (sage). Colorado elk is something special compared to other places. The sautéed green beans and carrot were also a great complement to the dish as well as the deconstructed au gratin potato. The shrimp ravioli was our second entree and while it was a hefty portion (6 jumbo prawn), the lemony sauce that came with it had a lot of cream and the shaved Parmesan covered all the ravioli up. Flavor on point again, but heavy on the dairy side. I'm not a professional chef nor do I claim to be, but I think simplifying this dish could make it sit a little nicer (more of a white wine/lemon sauce with a little fresh thyme). We would certainly come back again in the summer to enjoy the ambiance of deck seating and the creek.

Great lodge for a mountain trip. The rooms and the restaurant are quaint and beautifully decorated, and the service was excellent. We will plan to come back in the summer when we can do more walking around Grand Lake.Food & drinks: We had a Valentine's Day dinner that was outstanding (duck breast, elk medallions and the gluten-free mac and cheese). The GF options were especially appreciated as my wife has celiac disease.

Unbelievable! Recommend sitting by the river for a lunch. Amazing ambiance. Very cool birds called dippers which are amazing to watch. A bear ran across the river rocks also the day we were there. The brie was lovely, as was the service. We can hungry after hikes and were very satisfied.

Food & drinks: I had the very ...VERY unique egg salad sandwich and it blew my mind. Yes. Mandarin oranges and cashews belong in your egg salad. Who knew??! Accept this and OMG so GOOD. And you cannot beat the view.

Food & drinks: We had dinner at the restaurant last night. I had Elk Medallions and my wife had the Rib Eye. Excellent meal. We had a nice bottle of wine and Baked Brie to start. Nice cozy atmosphere and excellent service. Off the main street in Grand Lake. It is a excellent choice if you want a fine dining experience in a rustic mountain town.

Dined here September 2022. Excellent lunch spot by the water! Lunch outside is from 11-3pm otherwise dinner is inside. Dining near the water was so relaxing and refreshing. We had excellent service from Hope, she always made sure we had what we needed. We had the BLAST bacon, lettuce, avocado, shrimp, tomato and the chicken melt, both were excellent! My only complaint was the wine prices, $30 for 2 glasses of wine at lunch is a little steep. Side note for larger parties, it can be hard to get a table so I would come a little early and be ok with waiting for a table to come available. I can't wait to return!

Nice little spot and views. It's an old style menu where you get a small salad and bit of sorbet before your meal for palette cleanser. Almost everything on the menu is good and ask the servers for their favorites.

The rapids is always so delicious. There hasn't been a dish I haven't liked but I highly recommend the filet mignon and duck wings. Their seasonal sugar cookie martini is delicious as well. Our waitress Stephanie was amazing. Request a window seat for a great view.

My husband & I had dinner here last night & were extremely happy with our visit. The service was top notch & the food was amazing. Definitely a 5 star rating from both of us. The place itself is cute & I look forward to returning when it’s warmer so we can sit outside near the creek. Thanks to the owners for such a wonderful experience!
