I currently live in Gateway Place, and I have been waiting like 5 MONTHS for them to fix my dryer. Since the start of my lease August 31, 2023 it's been broken, and I also lived without hot water for the first 3 weeks. Maintenance came in and "fixed" my dryer 4 times at least, but literally did nothing. Finally after filing a complaint with Asset Living who manages this place maintenance came for like 10 mins and flipped a switch or something they said and it finally worked. The issue is there was a huge buildup of lint and I told them they need hvac but two separate office staff on two separate occasions said it was fine and the maintenance guy who finally fixed it and his partner said no it's fine. No it was not fine because after 3 or 4 days it almost lit on fire from the lint buildup. Now, I have no clue if I will have a dryer again for the remainder of my lease because it took almost 5 months for them to even bother fixing it, which washer and dryer is the reason I chose this place over others. It's something they use to reel people in, and then apparently once we are locked into a lease they just laugh whenever we have issues and tell us tough luck deal with it. This place is a whole entire nightmare, because as it turned out, my "remodeled apartment" was not remodeled and got the famous "landlord special". My knob to turn gas on and off at the hot water heater was so warped, and the hot water heater broke the day we moved in so they couldn't turn it off and fix it and we needed the gas company and a plumber. Between the 4 parties, office-maintenance-gas company-plumber no one told anyone anything so they all had to come back out and do their thing again. I have improperly connected floorboards so when I mop they warp and raise at the edges, my skylight is leaking and there is a large discoloration stain in multicolor so it's been an issue for a couple leases worth at least, there is a bubble behind my paint, probably fill of water, in the corner by my sliding glass door. Nothing is getting addressed.

Oh man where do I start, I currently still live here because my lease isn’t up yet and have no desires to have a broken lease agreement on my rental history. Ok so on Oct. 26, 2023 I was walking my dog that weighs about 13 or 14lbs along side the pool area which would be on the east side of the pool. On the lower level their is a big black dog and I say big because it’s bigger then my dog for sure that barks when it sees another dog walk by or hears a dog bark, yes my dogs barks just like any other dog. Well on this particular day the window was wide open and yes there are screens but if a big dog really wanted could push the screen out if it wanted too, well it wanted too on that day but was unsuccessful but not due to lack of trying.. I got away from that area pretty fast with my dog and went straight into the leasing office to report it, I even tried to point out the window but the staff person would not come out into the pool area from the leasing office because she couldn’t walk away from the door because it would lock. I know she saw the apartment window I was talking about because she stated oh I can see the screen. I assumed they spoke with the owners of the dog or the tenants that lives in that apartment, I mean that is what anyone would think would happen especially since it’s a serious issue. I don’t know for sure if they did or not speak with them about the issue. Well on Nov. 9th, 2023 I unce again was walking my dog down that same area as I always have done now for the past two years, I heard the dog bark and just assumed the window would be closed because as I mentioned I reported it to the office. Boy was I wrong this dog pushed his way through the screen and charged right at me trying to get my dog, I tried to kick it away from me and run but unfortunately I had surgery a yr ago and have extensive surgical hardware on my right femur and can not run as you would think I should be right, the dog knocked me down into the parking lot in between two cars a few step away from the leasing office. I was trying to get the dog off me screaming for help while the dog was trying to bite at my dog this dog bit my left forearm in two places I had no choice but to let my dog go, thank God she ran under a car that’s when I was able to get the dog off me and kick it from trying to get my dog. I grabbed my dog and ran into the leasing office and was crying and shaking and trying to let them know what just had happened. I don’t feel like they really tried to help me much, I told them it was the same dog that I had reported a few weeks ago. They didn’t ask me is there someone they could call for me, they didn’t call 911 or an ambulance, I was told that I should call 911 meanwhile I’m in shock over the whole situation and then went into an asthma attack while calling my partner and 911. I ended up going to the hospital with two dog bites my knees all scraped up my elbows scraped my shoulder hurting my right leg throbbing. My daughter had a hard time getting the necessary information from them so that she could report this incident to the corporate office of the apartments, she was finally given it but not completely sure if it was the right info. So needless to say it’s been (6) days and not one person from the office has yet to reach out to me and ask if I’m ok or how I’m doing. I’m not doing great yes my wounds will heal at some point right but my mental and emotional status will take longer I don’t sleep well and now I catch myself walking the other way when I see another dog coming towards while walking my dog. I thank God nothing happened to my dog that day she is 10 and is my emotional support dog just as she always has been.Sincerely a very sad, emotional and frustrated tenant

I originally gave a 5 star review, and then today happened. The complex put a new rent pay system into place. The system has apparently glitched. We have paid our rent but we received a notice on our door. We tried to call and no body answered. So my husband walked to the office so we could resolve the issue. The lady at the desk was very rude. Spoke over my husband and talked down to him. First of all Gateway, this was your mess up. Your responsibility. Not ours. We have done our due diligence. But to talk down to your residents? Especially those who pay their rent on time every month for over a year. Who is trying to work with you during this mess up of yours!!! I am taking a star away. Treat your residents better! It’s things like this that would make someone leave. Do better!

Moved in almost a month ago. The community is nice, we have quiet neighbors and I have no complaints about the environment, so far I love it. However, there is a problem with dog poop EVERYWHERE (Atleast near building A and behind garages.I’ve witnessed mostly building D residents leaving the poop.) I would love to see owners having to take responsibility. I watch people take their dogs to grass areas right next to the baggy stations, leg their dog poop and leave without picking it up. You can tell it is a constant problem with the same couple people. It’s gross. Also, off leash dogs. The amount I see after the office closes is bad… I want my dog to be kept safe and I don’t want anything to happen to their off leash dogs either.. these are my only complaints so ultimately, I am happy here.

The change in management has had a significant impact on the place. Good office staff and quality work from maintenance.

First thing is these apartments are just beautiful, the inside and out is gorgeous and definitely on the more prestige side of apartments. The layout is amazing and the amenities are even better! However, it’s the staff that made this a miserable experience. We were told to go ahead and put in application KNOWING we needed a co-signer, the guy said absolutely no problem they use co-signers all the time, so we did apply. I was accepted but my partner who needed a co-signer was not, that’s no problem. We contacted Gateway to let them know we needed that co-signer to be approved, they said it was “too late” and that we were not able to do that. That was the beginning of all this, after getting hung up on twice, and eventually just stopped answering my phone number all because I had questions about the application and refund. After emailing back and forth with many staff members, I was told it would take no longer than 30 days for my check to arrive. We applied in JULY, and still no refund. After investigating, I was told a manager had put a “non-refundable hold” on my refund, weird. After being denied, the attitude and demeanor of the staff was unacceptable, I work in customer service and there are 100 other ways to go about this situation instead of ignoring it. So still waiting on my refund as I write this BUT I’ll give 2 starts because of how nice these apartments really are, I would have loved to make this place my home but I understand it was not meant to be. :) just be careful when applying everyone!

We had three ceiling collapsing leaks about two months. The property manager Hannah will offer you no help and only make excuses stating that devastating leaks are a risk anywhere you live and our apartment is still technically “habitable” with parts of the ceiling damp and missing. As well as making it seem like it’s our fault for having so many problems from pipes in the walls from apartments above us. She called and promised to “make it right” after our first leak but nothing came of that. She also stated she would come look at the damage from our 2nd, worse leak to “see what we were dealing with” but never showed. Her only “solution” was to try to move us to a unit that cost 20% more in rent.We have lived in a number of other apartments new and much older and never had so much as a leaky sink. Unfortunately the other excellent staff here can not make up for the ongoing issues. The other great staff may not last long either as many quit due to poor management while our second leak was being patched and that resulted in it taking forever to finish due to how thin maintenance staff were stretched. It was still not patched by the time we moved out.Thankfully move out was simple and they returned all of our deposit, most likely due to us requesting a walk-through even though they say it’s not required. However, the address on the deposit envelope was wrong but luckily the post office corrected it. Several neighbors saw us moving out and said they wish they were moving as well because they have also had multiple issues. One had an AC broken for several weeks in the middle of summer. Overall, this complex has several large issues that cannot be ignored and are not worth living here no matter the discounts they give you.

I wasn’t going to renew my lease due to the constant lack of compassion and empathy from management. Every past encounter was miserable and unwelcoming, disingenuous the least to say. It’s not so much the apartments themselves, but more so the way they were being ran. Recently, the last few trips I made to the office were actually enjoyable. For once I didn’t get a mouthful of scripted excuses. The ladies in the office are great and I think I’ll enjoy another year or more here.

I have been living at Gateway Place for a year! I love it! I’m renewing my contract!I really like how kind and committed the people from customer service are, Tayz when she was around and now Luz. They are very helpful and kind. Also it is a plus that they are bilingual.

I lived here for a year and had many issues. When I moved in the first night the hot water heater was broken. Then the washer and dryer went out. I felt bad because maintenance was always at my place. On the other hand I loved the newly renovated units and the new gym.

Please reconsider renting at this property. The maintenance staff does a fine job with small jobs but failure to repair our AC due to warranty for 30+ days has caused our family and the tenants to suffer as we are to endure the heat of 85+ degrees in the apartment then go into our daily work life with the responsibility of paying full rent as the complex does not respond to compensation for the inconvenience to a failed compliance to repair the HVAC within a timely manner. My HVAC or AC unit has been broken for 30+ days and the management was unprofessional in the mannerism once addressed. They stated that it is an amenity as it does not disclose that on their website or etc. It is an appliance that has been failed to be fixed within a reasonable timely. They failed to adhere to my letters in regards to the issue instead stated that due to warranty their in no timeline of repair. They have not reached out in compensation and disregards my concerns as they shift blame to other companies that they're contracted with. As a customer it is not our responsibility for contractors or repairs but we have to uphold our side of the rent even though our AC unit is non-functional in 90+ degree weather which makes this unit uninhabitable. The manager Hannah has not been seen or gives customer a remark that she does not have AC either in her owned home but as a homeowner that is an issue that can be fixed through means of search and payment of repair. The company Asset management has yet to take my response or letters of concern into consideration as their was no formal response given within 30+ days. If you are to live in an apartment complex the basic necessities of comfort should be upheld while living in the apartments that the tenants pay rent in. That the complex should take responsibility and compensate due to it affecting our daily life.

Go somewhere that actually cares. If I could give this place a lower rating, I would. This place is riddled with problems. Don’t expect any communication from the staff here or for them to fix any of the issues in your apartment. The AC unit in our apartment has been broken since July 17th and after trying to reach out several times, we have gotten no updates whatsoever. We contacted corporate and got no answer from them either. There is a saying that "the fish rots from the head down" and that certainly applies here. I could go on and on about the issues we have experienced here but I think my point is clear. Seriously, save yourself the headache and go anywhere else.

Our daughter lives in these apartments, and there seems to be a consistent pattern of poor communication and poor customer service. Her AC has been off for two weeks during the peak of the summer and we cannot get it fixed. We call the front office and they say that they can’t do anything about it because everything is up to corporate. We call corporate and it never seems to find its way back. Totally frustrating and disappointing.

There are pros and cons to living here - just like anywhere. I think it's a situation people should just be well informed about before signing a lease. What's wonderful about living here is the floor plan of our apartment. Having so much hard floor space makes cleaning easier, and the open floor plan allows for wonderful interaction with everyone in the apartment. However, there are some drawbacks that one should be aware of. Our experience with the maintenance of the apartment has been disappointing. When we moved in, our dishwasher, clothes washer, and freezer all were malfunctioning - and leaking. It took six months of consistent requests for everything to get fixed properly. I am not sure that filling out the maintenance requests online means much based on the lack of response (sometimes they'll even mark that they stopped by your apartment and never have). One of our doors needed to be replaced from our move-in date, and wasn't replaced until a few weeks ago. Also, when you tour the property and look online, Asset Living, the owner of the property, certainly play up the amenities here, which are wonderful. The problem is that between the poor maintenance of gym equipment, gates, and additional usage issues, you can't plan on being able to regularly access anything. If you inquire about repairs, you'll either get the run around, or be told amenities are not a priority to fix.For example, one of the pools has been closed for 8 months because apparently a gate needs to be repaired. There is gym equipment that has been broken for at least 8 months (including bikes and the rowing machine). You'll still ALWAYS be charged communities fees for those community amenities that they regularly take away from residents, and they charge you extra for refilling the pools they won't let you use. The larger pool has been closed most of this summer, and if Asset Living isn't willing to pay for someone to supervise evening usage, they could just lock the gates at 6:00pm to stop some of the vandalism, and install more security cameras. Instead, they just drain the pool repeatedly, charge residents the additional water fees (the ones who never get to use these amenities), and chastise non-offending community members through copious emails. If you like the apartment space and the location, and just don't factor in the amenities at all, it can be a great place and will help you manage expectations. It's quiet, and close to many shops in town. All of our neighbors are really nice people. Maybe just be handy at fixing appliances and doors yourself, and plan to find amenities elsewhere.

(Do not move in here.) When I first moved in 5 years ago it was actually a very nice place to live. The apartments are modern and decent but as soon as Echelon took over management it has been an absolute wreck. They have had more management and maintenance turnover than I've ever seen before in my life. Prices have gone up every single year since they took over and they are just not enjoyable to deal with. It is extremely corporate and they're only here to make money, not to help people. My washing machine has been broken for months and they keep giving me a runaround, "oh well our maintenance supervisor was fired." Oh the one you called me twice about to tell me that was supposed to fix all of this stuff and then got fired not even a month later? The problem lies entirely with how they're managing the place. They turnover employees to shunt the blame away from themselves as a hat trick. My neighbor broke her lease early because of her upstairs neighbors that management refused to even acknowledge. Let alone the fact that there are at least 5 of them living in a 1 bedroom which is against the leasing terms. Whatever you do, don't choose to live here unless you want an incredible amount of stress buildup in your life. Oh and they cherry on top is that when I wrote a letter of how displeased I was with the poor maintenance around the complex is and told them that I was going to warn people not to move in here they replied that "It's against the terms of your lease to speak poorly of the property or echelon." So here's my bad mouthing of your pitiful management, let's see if you really want to play this game.
