About Missile Site Park
Missile Site Park is a unique destination that offers a blend of history and nature, though it can be challenging to find due to limited signage. The park is closed from January to April, so visitors should plan accordingly. While the area is clean and well-kept, parts of it are gated and closed, and tours of the old silo are no longer available. However, the park still holds charm, especially for those interested in local history and the Cold War era. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the park's beauty, with opportunities for birdwatching, spotting prairie dogs, and enjoying the diverse flora. The trails provide good walking experiences, although there is little shade, making cooler weather ideal for visits. Sunset views across the plains are particularly stunning. Picnic areas are available but could use some improvement. Visitors have noted that city plans are in place for enhancements. Overall, Missile Site Park is a great spot for picnics, walks, and enjoying the outdoors, making it a worthwhile stop for those exploring the area.
CLOSED from Jan until April. I got there Jan 2nd and the gates were not open. Just a heads up.. because it's not very well advertised.

Clean and well kept area but hard to find, very small signage. Disappointed that you cant tour the old silo and half of the area was gated and closed. No camping either.
