I just did my first international wire transfer to Serbia. This is probably not a common thing for most people or businesses. I went to one bank and had to leave because they didn't know how to do it they couldn't answer my questions so I found the highest ranked Bank of the West on my side of town and they delivered. Well done! I'll be coming back.

I had a great experience with Omar, the branch manager. I needed an old document and he was very helpful in finding it. He went way out of his way and made me feel like an important client - I'm not! The other people in the branch were also very friendly and accommodating. Hats off to Omar and his crew!

I was really impressed and please with the service and communication we received upon account opening with BOTW. After going through a relationship management change with BOTW, i've been disappointed at best with the communication & customer service we've received.

BANK Manager (Omar) and his District Manager(s) use PROFILING to LIMIT FURTHER BANK ROBBERIES. I walked in the door and asked if I could take a seat while waiting for a Bank of the West account holder. We were meeting to notarize a document. The teller needed to get permission from the bank manager before I could sit in the lobby alone with my mask on. The bank manager refused to allow me to take a seat since I was not a customer. He wanted to know ALL THE DETAILS of my meeting his customer. Afterward, he insisted that I leave. Per my request, I was given a phone number of the District Manager so I could complain about the mistreatment by the bank manager. I was given the phone number, then the Manager INSISTED that I make the phone call OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN. According to this Manager, it was inappropriate for me to use my phone to call from within HIS LOBBY to file a complaint about him. I stood outside in the rain and made multiple attempts to call the District Manager which went to voicemail each time. The answering machine said that I would receive a reply to my inquiry in two days. These calls were never returned. The Bank of the West customer arrived shortly, and I said: Hi. The bank manager immediately opened the front door of the bank within 3 seconds. It would appear that he was STALKING ME from inside the bank. This bank manager is SO WEIRD! I immediately returned to my vehicle and left to avoid the bank manager calling the police for loitering or something. The bank customer followed me to my vehicle as he needed my signature. I was so freaked out by this manager, there was no way I was going to step foot in that bank a second time. Let's review my "crime" again: I, a non-bank customer was meeting a bank customer to notarize a document, and experienced this FIASCO of the bank manager stalking me. THIS IS A VERY UNFRIENDLY BANK THAT COMPLETELY HUMILIATED ME. In all fairness to Omar, it was my day off, and I failed to do my hair which was standing straight up (in a trendy fashion I might add)--BUT, I am a GUY and don't do my hair on my day off. More confessions: I was also wearing a flannel shirt on this chilly day which might have been my second 'crime'. Later note: I received a call from a District Manager. He suggested they were having lots of 'issues' of both customers and non-customers being non-compliant resulting in losses for the bank. He further suggested that the bank had been robbed several times, but I found this hard to believe in this day and age. Hence, they have instituted a policy of PROFILING to take control so the bank employees can overthrow the situation and throw a person out of the bank BEFORE they have an opportunity to commit a crime. It would appear they thought I was a MASKED bank robber; in a flannel shirt; having a bad hair day, which justified my poor treatment and humiliation. Is PROFILING Legal? Moreover, it would appear (in the eyes of the Bank Manager) that the Bank of the West account holder was my accomplice to assist with the bank robbery. I guess I was lucky the bank manager did pull out a Colt six-shooter (i.e. 'the gun that won the wild wild West') and shoot me at this Bank of the West. Bank of the West has a whole new meaning to me after this visit. It is truly the raw, uncivilized WILD WEST under this management.

Bank of the West used to be a great local bank. Customer Service has quickly deteriorated over the last 2 years. Nobody answers the local number and the 800 number means that you will usually be on hold for 30+ minutes. Not sure why things changed with them. Bummer.

I have banked with them about 15 years and more recently have had really bad experience with customer service. They have made multiple mistakes with my account, transfers take days, and the manager is very rude when you have an issue.

Went into this branch last Friday to cash a check from one of Bank of the West's customers who was finally paying back a loan I had extended to him over a year ago. I was leery of the check's worth, so decided not to run it through my account with my bank. Got hit with a double whammy when Bank of the West informed me they would charge me $7.50 to cash their own check! Now I know why I don't bank here. After a call to their home office I was informed that all of their Branches will charge this fee also. After the numerous and generous bailouts by the US Government, this is what we get in return! I'll never Bank here!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the service I received from the Branch Manager, Chris. He was incredibly helpful during the closing of my property and went out of his way to help come up with solutions when an issue arose. Today, several month later, he was still quick to respond and address questions I had about my account. In addition he took the initiative to resolve a problem I had yet to notice. It is really refreshing to receive such outstanding service!
