We waited over 10 minutes and none of the staff ever approached us to take our order.

I just spent 2 nights at the Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge and cannot say enough good things about it. The lodge is furnished in classic western theme, and is run by the two nicest people on the planet. The rooms are super clean and well decorated, the meals were delicious and reasonably priced, and the location in Guffey can't be beat. Did I mention they have great live music regularly? Do yourself a favor and get over to the Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge and have a great special event, romantic getaway, or just a fun few nights in a super cool little Colorado mountain town.

Wilbur & Beth and their team are awesome! Great food, great people, and the quaint, humble little town of Guffey was awesome as well.
Let me put it plainly.
Why stay at a boring old hotel when you can stay here at nearly the same price and enjoy great food and some live music. Hosts that care about their guests. Not to mention great views, peace and quiet along with nature milling about just outside. Yes, the atmosphere is awesome and lively yet peaceful and comforting.
Thank you Wilbur & Beth!
I hope to return for a longer stay in the future.

We discovered this place by accident. 4 of us ride in on our motorcycles and Beth met us in the lot and said we were too early.
But she saved our day when she said she would make banners and fries if we wanted.
Delicious food and very welcoming.
Thank you

We attended a family wedding party that was mixed in with a wedding anniversary & a birthday. It's a great place The people having the party obviously know the owners. The place looks great. They had toys for small children to play with. The food was excellent at the two parties thrown at this place. Food was very vegetarian friendly & I don't know who made the cakes, but they one I had a piece off was delicious. I would have like to have a piece from the other 6 cakes, but I've wasn't possible. I'm glad my cousin has such nice friends & neighbors. We didn't stay at the hotel, so I can't say how the rooms are.

We did a little day trip to Guffey with our two young children. When we walked into Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge Wilbur came out from behind the bar to greet us and welcome us in. He was so kind and thoughtful to bring our kids crayons, coloring pages, and some animal toys to play with. Their staff was friendly and made great suggestions. The food was great and the atmosphere was so nice! We will absolutely be back! I'm sure staying here would be an amazing experience. If you are looking for a getaway weekend or just passing through town you absolutely need to stop in.

From the moment we walked into Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge, we felt more like family than guests. The owner, Beth, gave us a tour of the building and showed us to our room, we had the room with a private bathroom, and it was wonderful. Rooms were very clean and comfy, a common area, with a microwave, a full-size refrigerator and toaster oven were easily available. The bathroom was very clean. Beds were comfy and the good mountain air really put us to sleep.
The first night, we sat outside and enjoyed a cocktail or two, from the bar, watching the hummingbirds and just enjoying the surroundings. We had dinner (Wisconsin style fish fry) at the bar/restaurant and made some great acquaintances during the evening. One of the people we met invited us out to her historic ranch for a tour and hike. Everyone in the bar treated us like locals and made us feel right at home. It was kind of odd how nice everyone was to us, or to everyone really.
We hiked the ranch mentioned above, hiked the Guffey Gorge (super cool), went to a car show and drove the forest roads in the evening to see the deer and elk, which we saw plenty. There’s much more to do but we were only there for 2 nights.
The owners, Beth and Wilbur are the coolest people as well. You can tell they really put their passion into the business, and into each other. They take care of everything and are so friendly and fun, and they hugged us goodbye when we left. What kind of business does that? The breakfast, which they ate with us, was outstanding, cast iron skillet eggs, homemade biscuits, fresh fruit, yogurt and perfect bacon, I can’t ask for better.
We’re already planning another trip for summer and another for spring. Honestly, as someone that travels the world for the last 30 years, this is about the most relaxing, comfortable, fun and enjoyable trips we’ve ever had. And it’s all right there in Guffey, CO!

I had a wonderful experience staying at Wild Spirit Mountain Lodge while passing through Guffey. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shared kitchenette looked well stocked (though I didn't use it). The restaurant and bar downstairs were busy with friendly locals, and the food was outstanding.
The highlight of the visit was having a homecooked breakfast with the owners, Beth and Wilbur, the next morning. Wild Spirit is their passion project, and it shows. Their kindness and thoughtfulness shines through in the lodge, the restaurant, the events, and their commitment to the broader Guffey community.
This is a special place and you'll be glad you made the time to go!

A truly fine place for lodging for a Colorado vacation! The lodge is a very cool building with large lounge area, library, loft. The outdoor patio and stage area is very impressive and you can enjoy lunch or dinner out here. The staff that run the lodge are very friendly and they create a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are traveling in this part of Colorado.

I went for a retreat and it was such a great time. The hosts Wilbur and Beth made us feel so welcome I was able to have the kind of peaceful experience that is the whole point of a retreat. Charming place in a peaceful, quiet town. Could not recommend more highly.
