“Great place! Highly recommend any day over a chain hotel in Lamar. Worth the extra 20 min drive to be safe, comfortable, affordable and actually have green space for the dogs to walk! Super nice people and very accommodating for a late night check in.”

“The building looks a bit rough on the outside, it isn't handicap accessible that I could see, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was very loud. Otherwise, I absolutely recommend calling for an affordable and large room if you are visiting the area or just passing through like me. #shelivesontheroad

This seems to be an actual old hotel with second floor rooms. The tin ceiling is original that I could tell, and the room was spacious. I had Room #1, so a corner view. There was a full size fridge and freezer plus microwave for food storage and prep. The television is a good size, and the queen bed was comfortable.

The bathroom space is large and there was a nice shower ? ?.

The decor was thoughtful and cozy. Lots of good things to see.

And I haven't heard so many "Yes ma'am" / "No ma'am" since rolling out of Mississippi. Kathy and her granddaughter Skylar were helpful and attentive. I hope you'll check them out.

Walkability: There's a full grocery store just a few doors away towards the main road, and an Hispanic store just a few doors in the other direction. Gas ⛽️ is also on the corner.

Food and drinks: I had some very good food at La Pasadita Restaurante which is across the highway from the gas station.

Noteworthy details: A good place to stay if you like the unusual.”
