About Colorado Welcome Center - Julesburg
The Colorado Welcome Center is a rest area and tourist information stop. It features clean restrooms, a nice building, and shaded picnic areas with teepees for meals. Inside, it is filled with well-organized brochures and maps for activities, with helpful staff. The center offers a photo opportunity by a welcome sign, a walking trail, and pet areas. Some visitors note it is a traditional and enjoyable stop with historical information. However, some find it less convenient for highway access and note that facilities can sometimes be in poor condition, lacking snacks or well-kept flowers.

Very helpful volunteer staff. The observation tower was very nice.

I have avoided stopping at this location to use the facilities at night because the lighting is inadequate, making the area feel very dark and unsafe.
