My family and I were traveling through. We stopped in to get drinks and some water to cool down our car. I told the clerk I needed some water to cool down my car because I had my 14 month old in it. And he told me they would have to charge me 7 dollars just to use their water hose!!! Outrageous!!!!!!

DO NOT USE Air pump. It takes your money and doesn't work. The store says it isn't responsible for refunds.
User beware.
Bathrooms are clean. Sometimes (most) the card swipe won't work.

Monte Vista is a small town in Southern Colorado. Thus Alta has definite small town vibes. When I needed to "see the cashier" on 9/2/2023 because the pump I parked at was not accepting my credit card, there was a line that I could tell was not moving fast any time soon. The convenience shop seemed decent. Clean. But it seemed like time was standing still so I went back out to my Jeep. Tried the pump on the other side. Sure enough, it accepted my card just fine. No need to see the cashier. No need to experience that twilight zone energy a second time. Lol. Conoco gas is sold here. That mid-morning it was $4 per regular unleaded which was 85 octane. Same price as the other gas stations nearby.TIPThe Upside app has this as one of their checkin locations - it's simply an app to help you save more at the pump.

Truckers beware...this is not a friendly place to stop and use the restrooms or to grab some ice really quick!!! They will turn you away if you are not a current paying customer, as in right then and there. Ice is 99 cents btw even if you have your own cup.

When visiting while out of town in a nearby home drove and walked here on 4 different occasions. Once for propane for the grill, a second trip for allergy meds, the next trip for Diet Coke and energy drinks, and of course one last stop on the way out of town for gas and snacks.Not to say anything of the hot food served and alcohol sold there. Friendly workers each time I went in.
