They took great care of my dog when he needed to be transferred for a pneumothorax. While he didn't survive the ordeal, we were treated with nothing but compassion and kindness. The staff is highly competent and rest assured you will know your loved one is in good hands.

My family and I are extremely Thankful to everyone who helped treat and care for our Mango.(Sun Conure) From the initial phone call in to intake and exam i was so pleased on the care and time you all took to make sure Mango was treated well. I don't remember the technicians name but she was absolutely great!! Everyone was wonderful! Thank you again!

This is by far the BEST vet I have been to. From the front desk staff (shout out to Oliver, Marilyn, and Rita!) to the doctors, nurses, etc. I’ve unfortunately had to come twice due to emergencies but they exceeded my expectations not only with their treatment of my pets but of me as well. They communicate thoroughly, go beyond standard customer service and provided my pets with the best care. Living in the mountains we don’t have a 24/hr vet so I’m so glad I found them.

We’ve been here for both our cat and dog. From small accidents to planned heart echos & surgeries, the staff here has always been so patient and kind. Big thank you to Dr. Lake-Bakaar for always taking such great care of our pets as they both need regular echocardiograms. & to Dr. O’Donnell for performing a TPLO on our dog that our pup has fully recovered from and is back to hiking.

Dr. Geri and her team at Evolution Veterinary Specialists are clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell they genuinely care and are committed to giving pets the best possible care. I really appreciate the professionalism and heart they bring to their work.

Everyone that works here seems to really care about your pet. Dr. Guardhouse in particular is very down to earth and knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone that needs care for their exotic animals. She was very good to my hedgehog 💞

June 2025 update - cardiologist Dr Geri Lake-Bakaar was so knowledgeable, explained details well, and pleasant in May 2025. Then our follow up visit with Dr. Tomoko Jensen-Otsu was much appreciated. She was understanding and kind re my elderly dog. She explained well, and was respectful of my questions and decisions. All staff at Evolution truly care about animals.
My 11 year old dog and myself appreciate Evolution's staff. We were there for an emergency visit. Every staff member was pleasant, and professional. Procedures were made clear. Decisions to be made were explained well. The vet seen, Lauren Kuechler, DVM was excellent at discussing her diagnosis, and answering questions.

Avoid this place at all cost they don’t care about you or your pet just read all the negative reviews this place has and they will try to charge you 10k easily, they shove paperwork in your face immediately before helping your pet with pricing tiers for services that should be included and then try to charge you for extra unnecessary tests for information they would already get from a previous test, 5k later they just sent my dog home and didn’t even bother to tell me what they found out just saying if he lives he lives. Just look at the all the attractive staff that drive nice cars you know they all are paid too well and the huge building they even have ambulances, they have to pay for all that some how. They don’t care about you or your pet, just that $. Please read all the other negative reviews before considering this joke of a vet. Help it go out of business.

They were great with my dog's detached retinas. Having an Opthamologist vet was so helpful. Service and care was great. I drove across town and it was 100% worth it.

Thank you YELP NATION! I was there at EVS today! Some concerning behavior with our dog; nice enough at checkin collecting the $175 fee which is acceptable on a Sunday. The Dr came in and did a brief evaluation for 3-5 minutes. I just needed some reassurances that the behavior and symptoms weren't life threatening while we worked into next week with our regular vet. He reassured that what we are seeing is not that BUT would provide an estimate for monitoring and bloodwork... So I am sitting in the visitation room for like 15 minutes (after reading the negative YELP reviews regarding $$$) and then called BS on this situation since we weren't going to do anything "Today". Was met with some resistance by staff to "Leave" and wait for a tech. So I can oblige, no problem, waiting in lobby for the tech. Tech comes out and says your taking the dog with you? I am thinking; uh.. yeah... I said email me your options and we can go from there. THEN we shift into the "delay for reinforcements" mode.... "Well sir, I need to check vitals and get weight...". And I am at this point almost 2 hours in and I said.. "no, we are good and we are going to head out, but Thank you"... "No, I am required to get that for my hospital"... Ok, really, blood starting to boil, "No you aren't and I already paid ($175) thinking all they are trying to do is reel you into a charge or to delay for the heavy to come in. It was like buying a used car.... I am sure everyone here loves animals, BUT, there is an underlying drive for charging unsuspecting pet owners $$. Take a minute and see your actual vet unless it's a real emergency. SO summary; not a fan of EVS. They prey on the emotions of die hard pet owners who will fork out 1000's without thinking.... IMO. Maybe; if you are in need a of trauma treatment; but BEWARE of the upsell.

I am a retired OR manager, and a also worked for 5 years in Pediatric Oncology. So I know a lot about expectations of human hospitals, their facilities, treatments, physicians, and staff. When in less then 24 hours we went from having, what we thought, was a healthy 130lb Bernese Mountain dog named Stanley, to having to euphonize our magnificent best friend, we were so devasted and heart broken. EVS is a miracle hospital, even though they could not save our beloved dog of only 7 years. The 24 hour ER/hospital was as good as or if not better, equipment wise, cleanliness, and physical layout wise, than many of the human hospital I've been in. The staff was sincere, empathetic and was also eager to help with questions or updates. The Veterinarian's were beyond anything you could ask for, in expertise, compassion, and options that were realistic and available.(I was raised @ a racetrack so I've been around Vets my whole Life) After EVERY test, they would touch base with you and then in a kind manner and in a way you could understand without the big "show off words". Their advice seemed to come from their hearts and the hearts of their patients that they may have just met. They never pushed about extra tests or surgery unless they felt it would make a difference, or without your go ahead. We had to let go of our beautiful dog there, but we knew that we and the EVS facility gave him every humane, knowledgeable chance he could get to leave there better off or just to go home if that were the owners wishes. As an aside, their billing department was also sincerely compassionate and worked with me on payment. Kim C. 5/22/24

This place is just wonderful. From the welcoming front desk to the staff giving updates on our kitty, to the nurses and doctors. Our kitty developed diarrhea and vomiting, refusing to eat and was hiding under the bed. Arriving at 7 am he was quickly seen, given anti-nausea medication and fluids. Lab work was done and an abdominal ultrasound to rule out any obstructions. We were able to pick him up with food recommendations and medications.

Unreasonable cancellation policy! If you are five minutes late, then the vet can cancel your appointment. Be careful they can also keep your $150 appointment deposit! The disclosure is hidden in orange highlight in fine print somewhere in all the paperwork, which is a terrrible practice not providing their customers reasonable notice of this policy. I was seven minutes late and Dr Gerry Lake Bacar refused to see me and my cavalier for an echocardiogram. Management should be ashamed of themselves. Scheduling should not be so tight!!!

Our dog, Wilson suddenly got very ill. We took him to multiple vets, including EVS. At EVS, we had a great experience with Dr. Jackie Thaeder! She was so kind, supportive, and helpful. She made sure we understood what was going on and what our options were. She recommended emergency surgery, which was terrifying. Unfortunately, EVS did not have the specialist surgeon on site that Wilson needed. However, Dr. Thaeder went above and beyond giving us emergency hospital options nearby and calling them herself to make sure they could get us in asap. Thankfully, our boy made it through surgery with no complications and is on day 4 of recovery and doing great! Dr. Tomoko Jensen-Otsu, Chelsea and Rowe were so sweet and accommodating, as well. They really cared for us and Wilson. Thank you so much to Dr. Thaeder and the whole EVS team!

Brought my old man dog in for vomiting and diarrhea. Everyone was very nice and the doctor explained the options and costs to me. We were there a long time 4 plus hours and the doctor let me know they were short staffed.
