About Leadville - Lake County Regional Airport
Leadville-Lake County Regional Airport is the highest elevation airport in North America, with a field elevation of 9,934 feet. It features a brand new, award-winning 6,400-foot runway open year-round. The airport offers aircraft storage in a heated hangar, full and self-serve jet fuel, self-serve Avgas, two courtesy vehicles, and is a preeminent location for high altitude testing. It is a 30 to 60 minute drive from several major ski resorts. The staff is awesome, providing great service and accommodation. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. Visitors note amazing views, great swag, and a free certificate for first-time visitors. The airport also hosts community events. Pilots are advised that the high density altitude requires experience and local knowledge. It is described as a great place and a great experience.

Dunes Air is exceptionally high quality. The owners really put the personal touches and professional attention to detail into every aspect of the experience. I've landed there twice recently and was met with friendly, capable line staff and all-around good vibes. Highly recommend.
