Safeway, located at 1900 N Poplar Way, Leadville, CO, serves as a convenient grocery store for the local community. It offers a variety of products, including fresh produce, meats, and a selection of bakery items like cakes and cupcakes. The deli provides ready-to-eat options and party trays, with the convenience of an Order Ahead service. While the store has a good selection of food and household items, customers should not expect the same variety as larger city grocery stores. Some shoppers have noted challenges with the store's app and mixed experiences with customer service. The atmosphere can feel crowded, but the friendly staff is eager to assist. Overall, Safeway meets the essential grocery needs of its small-town customers.
The prices were ridiculous. A can of cinnamon rolls that cost 5 dollars at Walmart was almost 10 dollars there. Go to Walmart instead and save yourself the trip. The only redeemable quality was that you could walk there from our hotel. Otherwise Walmart had a broader variety and lower prices.

We need better stocking and planning. They're trying to keep up with demands, but need more reliable workers. It is understandable it is hard to keep up, but I think we need either another grocery store to pick up the load they have, or a consultant from the franchise to help them!
