Our ski club stayed here, 52 of us. Like being here, owners are excellent, and the price is good. They have sold their business and will move on at the end of March 2024.What happens next to this lodge is not known.

Initially, The Silver King Inn and Suites was a complete life saver. We travelled to Leadville from Kansas and found we were scammed by a fraudulent Airbnb listing. After calling all hotels in Leadville, the Silver King was the only place that could accommodate us. (4 adults, 2 teens, and 2 Great Danes) for 2 nights in early March. The price seemed reasonable especially since we had no other options. They charged a $25/night pet fee which is understandable.Check in was easy, the front desk worker was friendly and helpful. We were given a suite with 2 “queen” (more like full size) beds, a pullout couch, and a kitchenette (apartment sized stove/oven, microwave, mini fridge.) Which all seemed adequate. Our room was at the end and on the ground floor.Upon entering our room we noticed the carpet was absolutely disgusting. It probably hasn’t been shampooed in 10 years. Still, no big deal, we had a place to lay our heads. The beds looked clean and well made. The kitchenette was well stocked with cookware and dishes. We were given a WiFi password with our key cards (only one card worked for the room) at check in.We made dinner in the room, one of the electric burners on the stove didn’t work was popping off the stove top. Again, no big deal, we were able to make dinner.Unfortunately we had an episode with one of our Great Danes and he was bleeding from his bottom lip, this is important later. We called it a night shortly after dinner, well tried to anyway. Our room was right next to the stairs and we could also hear every step in the room above us. The opening and closing of the exterior exit was also very loud. The beds were probably the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on, with 3 very flat pillows for each bed. There were 2 pillows in the top of the closet for the pullout but no extra blanket. The pullout mattress was inadequate at best. Very uncomfortable. In the morning we had breakfast. Cereal, breads, waffles, yogurt, fruit, and coffee. It wasn’t terrible. But not spectacular either. After a day on the ski hill, we had dinner in the room again. We made it work. When we tried the tv, there was no cable. And the WiFi wasn’t good enough to stream anything at all. The tv kept buffering and completely freezing up. So we axed that idea. The kids picked up some games from the breakfast area and brought them to the room, that was a pleasant surprise. The 2nd night’s sleep was even worse than the first. It sounded like people were stomping up the stairs all night long. There was a diesel truck in the parking lot that ran all night long and the beds were still very uncomfortable. We made the best of it though.Upon checkout, there was no one at the front desk. So I dropped the key cards in the fish bowl and left.Hours later, the charge went through for the room. $160 more than originally quoted. I called the hotel and spoke with the person who had checked us in 2 days ago. The charges were for “damage to the room”. I was very confused and asked what damage, because we left the room very clean. The damage was a ripped bed skirt and blood on the sheets. The bed skirt was ripped when we arrived. I noticed it when one of the other adults sat down and the mattress slid, the ripped part had been tucked up under the mattress and had it not shifted when sat on, we wouldn’t have noticed it. The blood on the sheet, it wasn’t like full on bright red blood or anything, it was little spots where the dog had laid his head and the wound touched the sheet. Now, these spots could be easily bleached out, which I assume hotels use bleach on their white linens. But whatever. The desk clerk was unable to do anything about the charges and I was advised to call back tomorrow when the manager is in. My review may be edited at that time.Rooms: Beds very uncomfortable, flat pillows, filthy carpet. Space was adequate. Tv kept freezing up, no cable and WiFi very slow.Nearby activities: Easy access to Ski Cooper. Not far from downtown.Food & drinks: Continental breakfast is ok. Nothing to write home about. Cereal, bagels,

I did not stay here, but I wish I did. I was staying in a nearby motel the day before a job interview and I needed to iron my suit ASAP to look snazzy for the potential employers. Sadly, my motel did not have any irons, nor did the local laundromat. I was getting frustrated and decided to try my luck here to see if I would be able to borrow an iron. The kind lady working the desk went above and beyond to find me a one to use. She was extremely cheerful and very happy to help me. After a long and tiring day of travel this gesture completely flipped my mood and made my day! I will 100% be staying here next time I am in town!!

Alejandra was amazing! No fuss OR muss upon check-in!! When I told her my fan didn't work (no A/C), she quickly supplied a replacement!! Great breakfast options as well!!!

I wish I could give this hotel a 4 star but I cant because of the bed and pillows. I was not able to get a good nights sleep. No AC. Even though the night temps reached lower 40's, the room did not cool down to a comfortable level until after midnight. Otherwise the room was spacious and clean and came with refrig and microwave.

Don't stay here! My husband and I stayed in a room that the thermostat was stuck all the way on high. The room was over 90 degrees all night! Room 122. UNACCEPTABLE!! We asked to be contacted by management and after 6 days of no call, I had to call today & demand to speak to management. Once speaking to her, she was condescending and tried to blow smoke up our butts saying " all we had to do was turn the thermostat down" like we are complete idiots and didn't try that before having to call someone to try and help us at 1 am! We had a boiler heating system for over 10 years. Then she was rude and said, "we have you 20% off your room, what else do you want"? Ummm some understanding and kindness. We are kind honest people who are in the service industry. This should have been corrected and not be made out to be that we were incompetent! We paid over 200 dollars for this horribly run down room with severe stains on the carpet. I've got pics and videos and will be disputing this charge with our cc company. Customer service is key and they are severely lacking! After losing our son, we needed a little mini getaway...... this is the experience we got! Never again! I'm disgusted!

Upon arrival, the desk clerk, who was very rude in person, had changed what she had told me over the phone. Now there was virtually nowhere to put us (we called for 3 rooms). The motel was virtually EMPTY all evening/night and in the morning, only a couple cars in parking lots. It is a rather large motel. We had to settle for nasty smelling, smoking rooms that are in much need of renovation! No Protein for breakfast. Beautiful check-in area, but don't let that fool you. We would never stay here again. Yuck.

What a welcome surprise on a busy holiday weekend! After staying at a horrible hotel in Monarch mountain lodge, this clean and tidy hotel restored my faith. Clean sheets and warm & welcoming staff! Highly

This place is lousy. My advice stay away. Quoted price was not the same as what they charged my card. No a/c checked in and room condition was poor ask for refund and was refused.

It does the job. The beds kind of like to make a crunchy sound, but just cause they’re lower quality. I didn’t really care cause I just needed sleep. Rooms weren’t nasty or run down. They have a tv, microwave, fridge/small freezer combo, couple of desks, a mirror, hair dryer, shower, coffee machine, etc. For the price, I’m content. They have a simple breakfast in the morning with a couple nice dining areas. Also, they were essentially the only place that could house us when we came in at night, or at least a place that wasn’t $400. Wi-Fi is available, but you have to call a number and no one picked up, but someone at the front desk will probably help you out.

The room should be condemned. Duck tape used for leaky tub. No a/c, toilet didn't flush, sink didn't drain, sticky stained carpet, broken furniture...... Unbelievable...I would NOT recommend this place.

Overpriced with Super8 type of room!!! I came to Leadville for the trail marathon and stayed for 3 nights, my room was on the other building, not the main buildingwhere you check in at. The Bad:Shower head was NASTY!!!The fan in the bathroom was loud and dirtyNo AC/Heater (but the front desk did provide me with a portable heater)The window screen was broken and have holes on it. The WiFi was off and onTheir cable TV sucks, I couldn't able to change to another channel using their remote. The Good:Their breakfast and the dinning area was awesome!! It's looks like they have a Super8 type of room but the breakfast looks like a Hilton because they have everything from waffle maker, cereals, bagels, hard boiled eggs, banana, coffee, juice, etc.... They have plenty of table to seat, there are some beautiful pictures hanging on the wall and a TV. Pretty nice area to enjoy your breakfast. Their housekeeping was pretty good too!! Normally I don't like people making my bed but after running the trail marathon and come back to my room with my bed nicely made and everything was organized, I was impressed. Their bed is firm, very comfy, the pillows were ok, sheets and cover are clean. The hot shower feels amazing after being on the trail all day!! JUST BRING YOUR OWN SHOWER HEAD!!!! Overall if you just want a place to shower and crash after a day of activities exploring the town or mountain biking or hiking the trail, this place is for you.

Room was nothing special, was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary breakfast the next morning. I frequent Hilton accommodations and their breakfast setup rivals theirs. It would be nice if the guest rooms were as nice as the lobby.

Wow has this place gone downhill. Duct tape holding the bathtub drains on. Little to no hot water. Beds that feel like bed springs vice mattresses. I’ve stayed here numerous times in the past. Was it ever “fancy” no, but was it adequate yes. Now….good Lord. Woke up this morning to 3 Sheriff vehicles tearing apart a car in the back parking lot.
