I’m a huge researcher - quality, price point, durability, functionality, etc be it’s always nice to talk to someone who not only knows his line offered but also the competition and things to consider. I never felt pressured to buy right then, but felt assured that I was making the right decisions and outfitting myself properly for the rest of this season and the next several years. “I don't even know where to begin. So first off this place is amazing. It has a great and respectful staff all around. This was me and wife first time going there and it was just amazing. Not only we're they helpful but even help us pick out the right handguns for us. They let us go down to the range which was amazing well kept and very clean. It was great got to test out 3 guns me and my wife found the right guns for us. Belive it or not we both pick the guns they recommended. They felt great shooting and handling the staff kept coming down and checking in with us. Making sure we had everything or if we needed anything if that not 5 Star survivors I don't know what is. “Danger Close Armament is hands down the best gunsmith shop I've worked with, and I feel lucky to have them right here in the Metro Denver area. The team is professional, kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable — they take the time to explain everything in detail so you actually understand the work being done, not just hand your gun back to you.
They direct milled a Holosun EPS onto my Glock 19 Gen 4, and the cut was clean and precise. I've had them mount several other optics for me as well, and every job has been top notch. I've also bought multiple optic mounting plates from them, both RMR footprint and RMSc footprint, and the quality blows away the stock polymer plates that come with Glocks.
Their prices are fair for the level of craftsmanship you get, which is hard to find in custom gunsmithing. The lead times they quote on their website are spot on too, which made it easy to plan around. One example that really stuck with me: I managed to break a hex wrench off flush inside a screw head, and they were able to extract it cleanly without damaging the surrounding parts — that kind of precision work is not easy to pull off.
Danger Close has also built a reputation well beyond Denver, with customers from around the country seeking them out for their work. That says a lot about the quality and trust they've earned. Most of us in the metro area get to just walk it in, which feels like a bit of a lucky break.
Between the optic milling, slide work, custom plates, and general gunsmithing, Danger Close Armament has earned my business for good. If you're anywhere in Colorado, or even if you're not, this is a shop worth going out of your way for.”

“Really awesome place and a wealth of knowledge and cool stuff! I am not new to shooting at all (lots of experience with rifle, pistol, shotgun) but I am new to airguns. Travis talked me through details of jumping into airguns vs firearms and the pros/cons of different brands. I went home and researched things online and came back and bought from him (shop local!). He setup the gun, tuned the pressures, and walked me through what I needed to get going and explained the functional components of the airgun. I would HIGHLY recommend swinging by the store whether you are new to airguns or a long time shooter; Airgun Outdoors is great place with a great dude! Thanks again Travis!!”

“I have been to several gun shops in and around Denver, this to me is what a gun shop is supposed to be like. Knowledgable staff who’s willing to educate their customers. Picked up a Radian Raptor charging handle. I’m a first time AR15 owner and the kind gentleman(sorry I didn’t ask his name) at the shop offered to drop it in for me if I had problems after he literally displayed with his own rifle, step by step how to do it. From here on out this will be my go to store for everything I need because of this encounter and because I respect decent human beings who are professional and courteous!”

Good selection for most things, but surprised they have cut back on their archery selection. Really only had one arm guard. Did not have any long bows. No package of a dozen or more low cost target arrows. And did not have anyone with a key to the archery equipment available on a Sunday ... only M-F ... Was their with my son to try out bow draw weights to see what would be the best weight for him, but we weren't able to do that ...”
