Not a great experience, and this will be long. My wife and I bought gift cards last year at Christmas. We went to use them and were slightly embarrassed when we were told they had no balance and we should take them back to where they were purchased. I did so and was told by a man that was called over to call the number on the back of the card and they would help. Called the number only to find out that you can only check balance and find locations. Being on the parking lot went back inside to see what could be done. I asked the young lady at the service desk and she said that they could not be returned. I asked to speak to a manager. After a minute two men approached me and stood on the other side of the stanchions and the younger man "said sorry it is not our policy to return gift cards and it was written online and behind the register". I was not having a good day and having been in customer service for decades kind of had a melt down. First don't bring two people kind of seems ready for a fight and need back up, second approach me and introduce yourself, third ask questions on what is going wrong don't just start with it isn't our policy, fourth be empathetic tell me you understand how frustrating it must be and explain you would like to help but can't. I.E treat me like a person. When you tell me it is our policy that is simply telling me I don't matter and you don't want to help. Like I said I losted it and threw the cards at what I thought was a trash can but it was a shredder. I was then asked if I was going to pick them up, which I replied no. I was then asked to leave the store and told we were adults and I needed to respect him. I don't blame the young man I just feel no one taught him customer service. I then picked up the cards and left. I felt really bad and tried to call the store to apologize but the after choosing the option to speak with an associate it rang and rang and was never answered. I tried 3 times and was never answered on either of the three. I certainly apologize to the young man for my actions. I just wish people that tell me I need respect them and be an adult would understand it goes both ways and a little empathy would go a long way. I can't speak for my wife but I am done with Sam's Club but maybe you can fix it for others going forward. I also would like to mention I recently lost my 22 son and have been dealing with severe grief. Not an excuse for my actions but just to say you never know what someone is going through and empathy goes a long way. Hopefully this is used as what I feel it should be a teaching moment and not another excuse to say the customer was crazy, best of luck to your team.

Too pushy at checkout.... I'm already a member spending money, don't act like car salesman when im checking out constantly trying to upsell me on memberships, cards etc. Just leave me alone and let me get my shopping done. Wow i can get 5% back on gas, always massive lines, that 5% ill lose on time waiting alone. I'll gladly pay more to go to an empty gas station, perhaps put more pumps in if you want me to entertain that idea. Also I wish they had shopping carts with better setup for kids. We have a hard time shopping here because my son is a handful and never wants to sit in the cart. At home depot they have a car cart which he loves and the only place can shop undisturbed.

Stood in line for 10 minutes to buy a $1 soft pretzel. When I stepped up to order, the employee walked away to do something in the back for 3 more minutes. Finally ordered my pretzel and was told there were no pretzels ready, and in the 13 minutes I was standing in line to order, an order for 20 pizzas came through and they were just getting started on those. I was told that their conveyer belt oven would be tied up for about 20 minutes until all those pizzas were cooked until they could throw my pretzel in. Apparently, there was no way to place a pretzel on the same conveyer belt among those 20 pizzas. So I walked away with nothing after waiting 15 minutes to be rudely told I'd have to wait another 20 minutes for a pretzel. I guess I give them credit for not just taking my order and making me wait with no explanation, but if that's the best thing I can say about the incompetent staff, Sam's Club is in deep trouble.

I had a number of bad experiences in Sam's, but today was the last straw. I went to get gas. No real line today, but I saw 5 open spots on the other side of my fuel door. I flipped around like I have many times. I scanned my phone, to pump gas and a man named Dennis working the pumps told me it was a one way. I explained I didn't know and I would make sure to not do this next time. Instead, he went and turned off the entire pump for me and the customer next to me because "I didn't follow his rule". I couldn't believe how horribly it was handled. After going inside to talk to a manager, I was told they can't do anything because that is what management tells them to do. The one star is worth it because I went directly over to Costco and had a better experience my first time than I ever had at Sam's. Help yourself and go to Costco, I promise you won't regret it!

Guess Walmart cant afford hoses that reach both sides of a car that have been around for decades now, so getting gas after 9am takes 20+ minutes always backed up cuz with half the pumps empty, potholes big enough to cause damage who cares years later still there, not open 24/7 because why be efficient when you can try & get em in during shopping hours. squeeges? what are squeeges typically there never out when its literally the guys only job by 5 minutes after open they should be out but the managers grandpa cant even do that. I go to gas stations to fill my tank and clear my windows when needed in an effcient manner not to be harrased by the stores managers grandpa. but what chw gonna do these parasites are the only place left to shop. Costco not much better I hold both cards & just go to the one closest when I need a fill up. costco has modern hoses and no potholes but no squeeges lmao. merica ef yeah oh the 3 people paid to treat me like a criminal but only 1 to accept my cash to check me out is a great way to say F U to customers, no I wint use your robots without an employee discount the shear audacity of this "company" is amazing they actually think people patronize them by choice. how bout sending the 3 receipt checkers that treat customers like criminals to a register?

Today I went to Sam's Club to pick up 2 orders. After waiting for over 10 minutes, one of the orders was delivered to my car. I told the man that I had 2 orders to pick up and the order that he hadn't brought out was big. Other people were also waiting for their orders, and when he knocked on the back of my car, I opened the hatch. Sam's Club tells you that they don't charge you until you've picked up your order. When I got home and opened the hatch, I received 4 bags of sugar and was charged $17.96 twice and $357.98 for the order I didn't get. I tried to call the store, but nobody answered. This isn't the first time I've had this happen dealing with this Sam's. Somebody needs to tell the people that deliver the orders to customers that 4 bags of sugar doesn't constitute a "large order." I'm handicapped, so shopping in the store is difficult when having to drag medical equipment with me, but now I'm going to have to get credit for the order I didn't get and what I'm afraid of is that the guy delivered my big order to one of the other cars. If I don't get credited for the $357.98, I'll file a dispute with my bank. Even though it's much farther from my home, the Sam's Club on South Wadsworth is much more efficient when it comes to bringing out your correct order. This Sam's wants to deliver your order to the trunk of your car. Great for them because you can't see what you're getting, but if you know what's good for you, tell them you want your order put in the back seat of your vehicle. That way you just might get what you paid for!

Hours listed online are not correct. The managers we talked to did not know what the correct hours were and when our order would actually be available for pickup

Must've been a bad day or something waited over an hr for a pickup order, still didn't have it. Called service line, told them to cancel it since I was driving home, too tired waiting. They send a notification that my order is finally ready right before they close. I'll try again today after work, hopefully it'll be ready when they say it will be.

First time member of Sam's Club, really enjoy using the app so I can skip the line by scanning & go. No more waiting in lines to check-out.

I love that this place always seems empty when I get inside! The lines move fast and the employees are helpful. I just did a pick up order and it was great! All the employees were so nice! I never have an issue with items being out of stock. There were a few things not available when I did the pick up order but it saved me an hour!

Wow, what an experience. Went in for what seemed like a simple thing, to open a membership on a Tuesday afternoon. Unluckily the person about 3 people ahead of us in line had some immense issue that took forever to solve. No issues with the person who had to deal with that or the fact that it happened, thats life. But the way that management handled it was atrocious. There was a line of us waiting at a standstill for more than 20 minutes before they finally sent over another employee. At that point, the sales manager started to just process returns. After a few of these to thin out the line, those of us at the front, who at this point had been waiting the longest and were seeing everyone go ahead of us, spoke up. Turns out the sales manager didn't know how to memberships? At least that's what he told us as an excuse. Either way, what should have been a fairly easy situation was made so much more frustrating by that experience. Ultimately we spent about 35 minutes in line, before the poor checkout girl who *could* process our membership got a chance to help us out, which took about 3 minutes. I looked around for a little while after that, but I definitely won't be returning to this particular Sam's. I'll drive to the slightly further one to see if service is a little better.

Friendly staff, but the glasses I got here just don't work at all for me to see. I tried bringing them back and having them adjusted, but still no luck. I ended up going to a different place to get new glasses made, and they work much better. I can't speak to the eye exam process, but I wouldn't recommend getting your glasses made here.

Better and cheaper then the competition. I got amazing lenses from this Sam's location for less then I paid WITH insurance at my last vision doctor.I attached photos so see for yourself. My last doctor charged me $185 after insurance for lenses which didn't even block blue light. Sam's charged me $169 without using insurance for the top of line glasses lenses (darkest automatic tinting, highest quality material, blocks blue light).

This was my first time ordering from Sam's club, and they went above and beyond to help me find the right pair of glasses. I will for sure be going back.
