Overall, my experience with 5250 was good, but not without challenges. I brought in an LS swap with Painless wiring and ECU. The team got started quickly, but I felt the ECU was dismissed too soon as the root issue, despite Painless being a reputable brand. After trailering the car two hours, I had to bring down a factory ECU to continue. When tuning still didn’t go smoothly, I was told it was a wiring issue and that they couldn’t spend more time on it. Ultimately, the real problem was an incorrect O2 sensor (internal ground vs external ground style) an honest overlook when I ordered. While I appreciate the effort and understand the demands of this industry, I expected more professional communication and less product-blaming throughout the process.

“Dyno-Mike” at 5250 Performance was a pleasure to work with. Great experience end to end. I’ve never done a chassis dyno session before. I hand built a truck from scratch and was looking for someone to double-check the tune and adjust the speedometer. I called about every other shop in the Colorado Springs area and none of them would respond to a phone call a text or an email. Mike picked up the phone immediately on the first call. I told him I was a rookie at this and I was happy that he immediately began to ask me many questions to make sure we were on the same page with the outcome I was looking for. I was very surprised how many questions we had to get through before we could be on the same page. That’s when I knew this guy cared. As with most shops, I had to wait about six weeks to get a spot, but I showed up when I was supposed to and the process only took about an hour and a half. He was very flexible and informative and walked me through everything that was done. It was kind of wild seeing my truck run through its paces standing still. In the end, I got exactly what we had agreed to and his price structure was very appropriate. I learned a lot, got what I anticipated and enjoyed working with Mike. I will use them again when the occasion arises. Thanks Mike!

I've been going to 5250 as my go to shop now for my 2015 WRX and had nothing but fantastic service from routine maintenance, to performance upgrades and advice. Overall, great communication by the team and their work is top notch.

First off, it's unprofessional that you guys have never returned ANY of my calls other than scheduling. You guys have the nerve to tell me that I'm unprofessional, says the guys who never pick up the phone when customers have other questions about something with their vehicles. I found another shop that was communicative, professional, and straightforward. If you guys want more customer satisfaction, I suggest you guys communicate better and not be rude over the phone. That's the reason why I never called to cancel my appointment with you guys because you guys never answered your phones in the first place. As many times I called and even left a voice-mail. I will not be going to this place. Rude and unprofessional.

They installed a new turbo on my Skyline, as well as a new engine management system. They provide high quality work across the board, and the car has been running great (and fast!) ever since.

I had a wonderful experience yesterday at 5280! Mike was super informative and helpful, and he was sure to let me know about all the issues he ran into! They fixed the clutch assembly on my 09 wrx and I couldn’t be happier with the work! It drives so much smoother now!
