The katsudon is fantastic here. It came with a very nice miso soup and cucumber salad. Both were very good. Service was prompt and friendly. Strong recommend from me!

Hana Japanese Bistro has been recommended by friends as an interesting place to try out in the Superior area. I've paid Hana two visits at the time of this review, once on a once on a Wednesday and on a Saturday- both around dinner time of 6-7pm. Hana Japanese Bistro is located in a small shopping plaza and surrounded with a variety of other restaurants and small shops. Parking may be tight at times, but usually you should be able to find parking - even on busier days where you have to park a bit further and walk to the restaurant. Service at the restaurant is fast, you usually will get your food within 10 minutes after ordering. This is both on slow and fast days of service, and also despite the number of other patrons in the restaurant. I tried a couple of options offered, from stir fry, rolls, and soupy noodles, which I'll review down below: Beef Yakisoba ($18): I would say this Yakisoba offered by Hana was more in the saltier side than I would have liked. Though the texture and spread of different ingredients in the stir fry was good, the flavor was lacking in dimension other than salty soy sauce. Shrimp Laksa ($18): A pretty solid bowl of noodles! The best part of this entree is the broth, it is very rich and hearty - You can taste the coconut and seafood flavor, and both blend pretty well together. The best description I got is that it tastes like a creamier Tom Yum, more of a Tom Kha. I got the udon noodle option and the broth clings to the noodles well. Though the flavor is excellent, the portion isn't really worth it in respect to the price. As after enjoying this bowl of noodles, I was definitely hungry for more stuff. Spicy Tuna Roll ($5): A pretty standard sushi roll, nothing too surprise. But it is usually hard to differentiate an outstanding sushi roll other than dissecting the roll and just tasting the fish quality. I would say on average you'll probably spend $16 - $30 for a meal here if you are feeling especially hungry. It does lean a bit more on the expensive side in terms of Japanese cuisine in the Superior area, but there are a good amount of options to try and so far the quality seems good. I would revisit to try the other options!

This is our go-to sushi restaurant. Always solid service and fresh fish. Nice seating as well and a couple of tables that can handle larger groups as well. Enjoy!

We absolutely love hana!! It's our favorite sushi/Japanese restaurant. The staff are super friendly and kind and the food always tastes really fresh. We've never waited more then 20min for takeout even when they're busy. We love you hana peeps!Dietary restrictions: My husband and I are both dairy free and gf and he is also soy free (I am not). Neither of us have had any reactions from eating here and they are really careful from what we can tell!

I have searched Malaysian and Singaporean Laksa place such for a long time, maybe 20+ years. We finally found this place and gave it to try their laksa noodle soup. I ordered laksa with rice noodles. It had a curry flavor. The presentation looked awesome and the taste was nice. The restaurant atmosphere was a kind of family restaurant : everyone can enjoy and relaxed at the same time.Great place to recommend to friends and family!!

My favorite sushi restaurant in the Boulder area! Fresh ingredients, friendly & efficient staff, and a lovely setting (the booths are the best!). My only complaint is that they are not open for lunch.

Very good food, but they seemed more interested in quick turnover than providing a welcoming environment. Never asked if we wanted more drinks (we did) nor were we offered a desert menu. In and out in 45 minutes. Cannot recommend.

The Tofu with Asparagus is off the charts! I'm not even a tofu lover, but there's something they do to the tofu that makes it phenomenal….delicious flavor overall and lots of veggies. There are several vegan options and the salads, including the mango and avocado and greens salads are large and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a nice vibe; really popular for a weekend night out. A great place to try if you're looking for something delicious and above the standard vegan fare. I highly recommend it! (My husband loved it as well.)

We have eaten at Hana for about 8 years now and it is always wonderful. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is consistently delicious and the fish is fresh. This is one of the best restaurants in the area.

After seeing the good reviews and because we are trying to sample all of the well-reviewed Japanese restaurants in the area, we got takeout from this place one recent evening. I ordered the deluxe sushi sashimi combo and was disappointed. The fish was just fresh enough, but only barely, the slicing and presentation of the sashimi and sushi was not very good, and the sashimi actually had a small portion of fish tail in one piece, which isn’t acceptable at all. The included sushi and dragon roll were all barely average as well. For the nearly $40 entree price before tax and tip, it left a lot to be desired. I also got some fried chicken and it was either actually calamari or was marinated in a way as to make the meat’s texture and color look different than any chicken I’ve ever seen. The miso soup was above average, at least. We have discussed trying again but this time, dining in. When I picked up the order, the restaurant itself was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal, so maybe takeout just isn’t their thing? All in all, though, we were pretty disappointed in our first experience.Parking: Parking lot was packed and the spots are spaced very close together.
