2025 UPDATE: still the WORST USPS EVER!! Reality, it Deserves a ZERO star. Pics r evidence of their carelessness. Wish the govt would hire non-rejects. Multiple packages I sent or waiting to be received are LOST and MISSING!!! MULTIPLE!!! This is a regular occurrence at this place! Also, Fathers Day card was received OVER two weeks past mailing date! All mail has been domestic shipping, so there’s no excuse as to why these simple tasks, that are part of the job, are rarely ever completed efficiently. Another example of such a poor quality establishment: when I moved to Lyons in November 2020, I had to sign up for a PO Box mailing address. This is a free box for residence. When I originally came in to this store, I was instructed to purchase a PO Box, even with my proof of housing lease in hand. When I got home, my neighbors and friends all informed me that this is FREE! So I went back to store the next day to receive a refund and the clerk stated, “This should have never happened.” Funny, because it was the exact same clerk that gave me all the wrong information at the first encounter a day prior! A refund in the form of cashiers checks were issued, instead of a simple credit card refund.
They close at 11:30 on Saturdays. All other PO are typically closed at 2 pm. Super convenient for the working citizens of this town! Thanks!
Why is it so difficult for them to have the cart parked under the sign that states to place prepaid packages there during closing hours? This is also a regular occurrence. Is it that complicated to have TWO CARTS?!?! One to take back to the room to unload and an empty one to replace it when said cart is being worked with.
What a joke this usps location is and it’s a shame this is a reflection of incompetent, dishonest, and plain stupid federal employees and establishment. Sarcastic tone, “Great job, Lyons USPS, for not doing anything right in a job that you should have been trained to do properly.”
UPDATE: 9/25/22:
As the picture provides proof, my package has been sitting in the Lyons office for over TWO WEEKS!!! I had my change of address completed (in person @ Lyons) the day before I moved, on Sept 1st. Why won’t the employees actually do their job, just look at my package just sitting there, and have not forwarded my mail for over two weeks??? I wonder how much is just sitting there doing nothing? It is not that hard to see a PO Box change of address and redirect anyone’s mail once they move. It’s their JOB. Lazy Lyons proving once again they are utterly incompetent. I only received one piece of mail since moving, and it’s going into week four now.
Word of Advice: get a PoBox anywhere but this Town!! Go to Hygiene or ACE in Longmont. Wonderful staff, friendly, and never had any of my mail lost, destroyed, or unaccounted for. Seriously, I wouldn’t even consider Lyons USPS. Read all these reviews, there is a pattern of complete ineffective employees & incompetent job performance.

Customer service is nonexistent the women currently employed here are rude and nasty. The mail carriers regularly have Misdelivered packages and letters to my box. The window hours are comical. It’s near impossible to pickup a package here if you actually work for a living. Needing your slip AND an ID is a ludicrous policy one or the other is sufficient.

Update: the postmaster called me and apologized about my experience. Between her and the other employees they worked hard to correct things and I've had zero issues since. As humans we will make mistakes, but what matters is how they accept responsibility and take feedback as a learning experience. And they sure did! Thank you!!!
I cannot believe how atrocious this post office is. Never had issues until recently. They used to leave packages on our porch but refuse to now and when we go to pick them up from them which is wildly inconvenient for us they have no idea where the package is or what happened to it. They shove packages into our mailbox and destroy them. I used to be a big supporter of USPS but the Lyons post office provides the worst experience and I am at a loss for what to do going forward with getting packages.

I got off work early to pick up a package that had a PS Form 3849 (delivery notice). I did not bring the form with me but looked up what was required to pick up. Though the PS Form 3849 is preferred, the requirement is a valid ID and address. I went to pick up the package and was denied, regardless of what the UPSP web FAQs say.
I've been a resident for nearly 30 years. I remember years ago when service was kind and good at this facility. Those days are gone.

It's faster to walk to Hygiene and it's 9 miles away.

So many of us who live in the town, some who have lived here for years, struggle with the postmaster. We have conversations amongst ourselves about what a horrible job she’s doing and how rude and defensive she is. Not sure why she’s there. I think the post office loses employees because of her. I wish, her higher ups would do something about it, but I doubt anyone would want the job in the town because it’s such a mess of a post office

Phone does not work; cannot reach a human. PO box paid online before deadline, but was locked days later anyways.

Biggest joke of a post office you will ever see. They have no idea what they are doing. The employees are rude and unhelpful. I just got a PO Box in Longmont to get rid of this nightmare.

The employees are nice but the post office itself is terrible. They are understaffed, and don't even have carrier service for the town of Lyons, let alone surrounding areas. What's worse is that they pretend their hours are 730-430, and then put up a paper sign that the desk is closed from 1130 to 1 for lunch without changing the posted hours. It's disingenuous, and you wonder if the postmaster knows.

Needs improvement. They won’t do home delivery in town. Mail is frequently misdelivered. Hours are so limited that it’s difficult to pick up packages with a full time job. Packages are not reliably made available when specified by usps informed delivery.

The trust is gone for me . If you think they will deliver in a timely manner or be safe and not damaged you are really lucky.

Worst post office in Colorado. The women I got served by were the rudest person in the world. Customer service is the worst. Workers who worked here just give useless information in a rude way that in no way helps at all. The worker always brought up how she did training. I don’t want to be rude but please send her to training again. I asked the same question a million times but instead of an answer, I was met with rude bickering about things not related AT ALL about my question. Do not recommend for anyone.
