Very nice and quiet. Spaces are nicely groomed. Plenty of well established trees shade to shade you and protect you from the wind.

Nice quite place I the mountains. Full hookups with water, electricity, and sewer makes it convenient. Propane filling station on site. Playground for kids. Overall my experience at Echo Basin was good.

Buyer beware!Horrible cancellation policy.I had scheduled 3 cabins for myself and my married kids and grandkids.....I was thinking it was one reservation with a $50 charge for cancelling. They charged me $50 for EACH cabin! That's a $150 donation that I really can't afford.

My brother and I enjoyed several days at the Echo Basin RV Resort while traveling to the local sites. This is a great place for travelers to the area. The folks were kind to us and the RV park has a wonderful feel to it.

My wife and I stayed at the park for several days in early April. It should be noted that they begin charging full summer rates on April 1. Despite this we were told that the restaurant/ bar and pool would not be open till May. We were okay with that. On arrival we were placed in a site that had just been vacated by a long term RV. The site was wet enough (presumably from the winter thaw) that our RV sank into the mud several inches causing it to be quite unlevel. It was late enough in the day that we weren't able to address this issue till the following day. At that point we asked to move to a different site and were told there were none available even though we noted several empty sites in the park. Instead we had to hook up our trailer and pull it out of the site while more gravel was brought in and the site was leveled. Even after that was done when we backed the trailer back into the site it still sank into the soft soil an inch or so. We just decided at that point to accept that we would would be a bit unlevel. Over the course of the next few days it became obvious that all of the gorgeous, lush green images that are shown on their web site are simply artificial grassed areas toward the front of the park. Farther back in the park where the RV sites are located all of the roads are very dusty dirt roads and the sites are rather thinly graveled. After being there for several days we decided we needed to do some laundry only to find that the laundry room and showers would not be open till May! This fact was never mentioned during booking of the reservation and was certainly not on the web site. When I complained to management about this his response was "I'll change that on the web site right now". .... And he did! I then asked why "summer" rates were being charged when absolutely none of the "summer amenities" were available to campers and the reply was simply a shrug of the shoulders and the comment "we go to summer rates on April 1". .... A lot of good that does me at this point! So no, I absolutely can not recommend this RV park! Our stay there was very disappointing !

Carr family owned and run RV and cabin resort (new owners in last couple years). Their location in the hills and pine trees is fantastic! This is a kid and pet friendly location for families with lots of walking trails and a pool on the grounds. They have cabins of different sizes throughout the trees and RV spots for a myriad of lengths. 30 and 50amp spots available. Echo Basin specializes in large wedding and family reunion events. They even have a bar and grill open Wed-Sun with happy hour 3pm-6pm. Make this location your annual summer pilgrimage!

Stayed with Echo basin for several months this summer. Great location for a wonderful and well maintained facility. Large uncrowded and shady spots throughout the campground. Extremely quiet nights as the location is several miles off of HWY 160.Easy in and out for our 40 foot fifth wheel. Very clean showers and laundry room as well as a nice pool and playground areas. On site restaurant and bar was very convenient and served up a great breakfast. Finally, all of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and we look forward to visiting again!

The staff was GREAT! Lisa at front desk made you feel welcomed and part of the family! RV sites are spacious and nestled amongst tall pine trees! Lots to see and do in the Mancos area. Take a trip to Mesa Verde National Park... it is a must place to see!!

We spend most of our time at private campgrounds because we want the convenience of full hookups and good cell service during the work week (I work remotely from the RV). But we don’t want our campground to be a glorified parking lot, either, so we like wooded campgrounds that still give you that camping feel.Echo Basin fits that bill. It’s located several miles from the highway (so no road noise) in a wooded area next to a farm. The roads and sites are a mix of dirt and gravel: the sites are fairly level and decently spaced. In addition to full hookups, the campground sells propane, has laundry facilities in the bathhouse, a small store attached to the office, a playground for young kids and volleyball, pickleball, and horseshoe courts/pits for older kids and adults. The campground also a clubhouse with a restaurant and bar available to campers when not in use for weddings or other special events (the campground hosts outdoor weddings). Although there’s no designated dog area, there were plenty of places to walk our dogs on-leash.My Verizon cell service was adequate - I got 10Mbps down and 11Mbps up with my Verizon Jetpack and MIMO antenna. Near the end of our month-long stay, we experienced some lagging while streaming TV but only intermittently. My AT&T connection on my phone wasn’t as good - I usually had only 1 bar - but I could still make phone calls. The only drawback to the campground is that nearby Mancos is a small town, and the grocery store in town didn’t have all of our usual groceries (which meant occasional trips to Walmart in either Cortez or Durango). But it was a small inconvenience for staying at a stellar campground where you could see the sun rise over the mountains at dawn and hints of the Milky Way at night. We would happily stay here again.

Echo Basin is a nice but not inexpensive camp ground. They have a golf course, pool and a restaurant/ bar. Our back in site was next to the pasture and was shaded most of the day. Evenings in the San Juan mountains are cool which we liked. They have many chalets which I can only assume are more popular in the winter time for skiers, not sure. Nobody rented these while we were there. We feed the horse daily. We enjoyed Echo Basin and also found Mancos, Durango and Cortez to be very nice.

After five years of full time we landed here for a month or two. Now, we may never leave! (Seriously, this feels like home.) We can ride our toys right out of the park into the LaPlatas with trails forever! With 40 acres to roam in the park there's hiking, swimming pool, ponds, creeks, pickle ball, basketball, playground, volleyball and more! There is a restaurant/bar onsite so basically you never have to leave. The owners take huge pride is customer service and making sure your stay is the best. 10+ stars!

What an amazing campground. Beautiful location in proximity to Mesa Verde NP, the San Juan National Forrest, Durango, and the Million Dollar Highway. The family who runs this are very sweet and accommodating, And the campground has moderate summer temperatures and some really nice waling areas. I strongly recommend you support this family-owned business!

Absolutely perfect vacation spot. Right in the middle of the action. You can drive UTVs right out of the resort and on to forest roads within a few minutes. Only 10 miles or so from Mesa Verde visitor center and a beautiful lake and fishing spot even closer at Mancos State Park. It's also nice that it is far enough off the beaten path to get away from everything but still only 30 minutes away from a decent sized town to go grab hard to find items like UTV or RV parts. The staff is amazing and will bend over backward to help. Every staff member from the bottom to the top make you feel at home from the moment you step foot on the property. Oh! and the best part is they have a great Bar and Restaurant on premises to grab a beer from Caroline or delicious bite after a day of riding. Thanks Tom!
