Manitou Art Center (MAC) is dedicated to creating an environment where artists, tinkerers, collaborators can flourish in the community. The space is lovely and full of opportunities to create. It offers spaces for darn near every kind of craft and hosts great events, including a Nice Creation Show in the front gallery until the end of March. Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable, and the incredibly talented staff and artists care about what they do. The shop has limited hours, so browse may be difficult. Although not the biggest makers space, the center is one of the most impressive and well considered.
Very special spot for artists and makers of all kinds. I found my home in the textile lab, and have learned from many talented individuals: 4-shaft weaving, tapestry weaving, sewing, book making, paper making and more. Highly recommended!

Note that the Manitou Art Center no longer has their sign up. It just says 513, the street number. I have visited here for years and was told they changed the signs to this. Very misleading. Nice Creation Show in the front gallery until end of March. Shop had limited hours, so couldn't browse.
