Almost without exception the best places to stay in Colorado Springs are small, independently owned motels. The Red Wing Motel is a perfect example.Arriving at the property, the owner herself came out to greet me, walked me to my room and went through all the details to make sure the room met my needs and standards. That's customer service. The room was simple with a fun, quirky decor and one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever seen.Parking is easy and there are several good restaurants within walking distance. A free city shuttle stops about a block away and takes you up the hill to the heart of Manitou Springs or to connect with the bus to the Cog Railway. The nightly rate for the Red Wing Motel was significantly less than most of the corporate chain hotels and a bit lower than several nearby properties. Value for money was exceptional.

The Red Wing Motel checked off all the boxes!!!! My husband and I enjoyed an excellent mid-week/3 night/4 day stay at the Red Wing Motel. We wanted something that was easily accessible to the center of Manitou Springs. This motel was close to everything. It was quiet. It was clean. Our room had been recently remodeled. It had a full kitchen, with granite countertops, full refrigerator, dishwasher, dishes, drinking glasses, pots and pans. The bathroom also had granite countertops, new fixtures, a full length counter with sink to hold all our travel items. There was abundant storage with built in shelves in the bathroom and a large closet in the living area. Susie, the owner/manager even arranged for a special chair to accommodate my husband's mobility issues. The room had individually controlled air conditioning, which we rarely needed in the evening. Vehicle parking was available immediately outside our unit. Another accommodation Susie made was to grant our request for a first floor unit so we did not have to use stairs up to the second floor. Susie was very helpful to answer our almost daily questions about restaurants, nearby sites, shopping, and parking. It is good to know that if a person has a vehicle and a handicapped sticker and places that placard in the window, there is no charge for parking. We loved the Red Wing Motel, Manitou Springs, and everyone we met. We can't wait to return.

Wish I could give more than five stars! We went to Colorado without any plans or room reservations. When we passed the Red Wing I noticed how clean and perfect the landscape and flower boxes were. The owner Susie was always an ear shot away for any questions we had. She keeps the motel exceptionally clean inside and out! Nestled away in a quiet neighborhood next to a park with tennis/pickle ball and free shuttle to Manitou. The view of pikes peak alone, breathtaking!!! We had a great stay and hope to visit again! Thank you!Rooms: Our room had two beds. Two bath and a kitchenette. A loveseat and kitchen table. Perfect to make yourself at home.Nearby activities: Manitou springs. Restaurants. Old Colorado city. Garden of the gods. Ballpark. Tennis courts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red Wing motel. We stayed in an executive studio room which had very nice appliances for cooking in. Rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Garden area was great for group meals and relaxing. Location is great, right at the doorstep of garden of God's and nice park just across the street.

Beware the Red Wing Motel, Manitou Springs, Colorado. I checked in for two nights to attend a high school reunion. After the first night I mentioned to Suzie, the manager I guess, that the bed was hurting my back. I just wanted to move to different room with a different bed.She immediately kicked me out and would not allow me to say anything. Not only did I not get any refund and was forced out hours before checkout, I was charged an additional $50.In the rush to get out at her bequest, I left behind a box of expensive nutritional supplements. When I called to see if I could come back to get them, she said it would be several hours because she was on her way to church. I decided to head on to New Mexico but I had to turn around on I-25 because she refused to release the box to my brother who lives half-a-mile away from the motel. When I went back for the box of supplements, they were disheveled and had possibly been gone through.I have NEVER experienced such treatment and I have stayed in motels and hotels from Quebec to British Columbia, from Montana to Texas, and from New York to California, not to mention Mexico. In my opinion, Manitou should be ashamed to harbor such a business.Rooms: Clean and quiet, and recently remodeled as I understand it.

After the first night I told the manager, Suzie, that the bed was killing back. I wanted to move to a different room, but she didn't let me ask. She said, "You have to move a.s.a.p." I was kicked out without even a full refund for the second night, and was forced to leave even before checkout time. I was in shock. I have never been treated this way.

The owner Susie is such an amazing person! She runs a very beautiful motel. From her almost daily landscaping upkeep, to keeping everything outside and in looking tidy and new. There are a few others that either work for her or maybe family, but their circle stays tight, so their customer service stays tighter. And the quality of maintenance they keep here is amazing! Come stay at this hidden gem ? ?️ ? ? ?Rooms: Just look at the photos, have you ever had a kitchen that appears to be cut out and taken with you from home?Nearby activities: Welcome to Manitou! This place is packed with fun and adventurous activities!Safety: Very safe neighborhood!Walkability: You can walk or ride the free shuttle almost anywhere you need to go ✌️

My husband and I felt like we were at home when we stayed at the Red Wing Motel. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and well-stocked. The location was far enough away from historic Manitou Springs to be peaceful with a beautiful view of Pike’s Peak, but close enough to be easily accessible. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice of motels.

My recent stay at this delightful motel was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by the warmest of smiles from the owner, who went above and beyond to make my experience unforgettable. If you're looking for a cozy, budget-friendly accommodation with a personal touch, look no further! One of the standout features of this motel was its impeccable cleanliness. Every corner of the room sparkled, and the fresh scent was an instant breath of fresh air. It was evident that the dedicated staff took great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for their guests. Clean sheets, spotless bathroom, and well-organized amenities - they left no stone unturned. The owner's commitment to customer satisfaction truly shone through. They were always available, eager to assist with any inquiries or requests I had during my stay. Their friendly demeanor and personalized service made me feel right at home. Their attention to detail, from providing useful local tips to ensuring my comfort, made a world of difference and truly set this motel apart. However, the only area that could use some improvement was the Wi-Fi. While the signal strength was decent, there were occasional hiccups in connectivity and speed. It wasn't a major inconvenience, but for those who rely heavily on a stable internet connection, it might be a minor drawback. I'm confident that with a little attention, the Wi-Fi service could be upgraded to match the overall excellence of the establishment. In addition to the outstanding service and cleanliness, the motel's location was convenient for exploring the surrounding area. Whether you're looking to explore local attractions or simply need a comfortable place to rest during a road trip, this motel's strategic position offers easy access to various points of interest.Overall, I highly recommend this motel for its charming atmosphere, exceptional owner, and impeccable cleanliness. The dedication to providing a top-notch experience is evident in every aspect, and with some improvements to the Wi-Fi, it would be the epitome of perfection. I look forward to returning to this hidden gem on my next visit to the area!
