Avis in Montrose Airport was so easy to use, clean car, efficient and easy drop off as well. Would definitely use Avis again. Thank you

I will not be renting from Avis again. They're inappropriately claiming that I did not fill up the car with gas. It was left before the location was open. I have provided them both the receipt from the gas that was purchased 5 minutes before drop off. As well as a picture of the full gas tank in the car. However somehow no supervisor is willing to call me to make this right and credit me for the inappropriate charge of almost $50.

Reserved a van in advanced as I have with Avis several times. I show up and they do not have it available. Aubrey(Audrey?) at the front desk says “it’s going to be snowy” so we got you this AWD Durango instead, after some back and forth, they just don’t have a van available so I take the Durango. Get out to Ouray in the snow and this thing is sliding down hill sideways, turns out it’s a RWD vehicle with junk tires. Call in and they have been miserable over the phone saying if I can get it back to Montrose they’ll get me a AWD SUV at triple the cost… disgusted. Being a Preferred member who uses Avis for travel frequently this is the most atrocious location and experience I could have imagined.

My prepaid reservation was given to someone else. I never picked up the car. Someone I don’t know did! Avis has not refunded my card.

Avoid Avis Unless You Like Surprises (Not the Fun Kind)Renting from Avis was like unwrapping a Christmas present you weren't excited about - full of unexpected packing material (read: hidden fees). Here's the rundown of my Avis "adventure":Booking Bait and Switch: Quoted one price online, charged another much higher one at the counter. "Oh, those are just estimates," they said with a shrug. Estimates that were way off, mind you."Mandatory" Mystery Fees: Out-of-state toll fee? Nope, haven't left the state. Loss damage waiver? Already declined it! Turns out "mandatory" just means "we can charge you whatever we want."Customer Service? More Like Customer Torture: Calling "customer service" felt like jumping into a pit of robotic apologies and unhelpful hold music. This Avis experience left me feeling:Cheated: Like I played a rigged game and they were the only ones with the loaded dice.Frustrated: Hours wasted arguing with robots and unhelpful humans.Wiser: Never again, Avis. Never again.Do yourself a favor, skip the surprise and rent from a company that actually values transparency and honesty. Your wallet (and sanity) will thank you.P.S. If you do choose Avis, bring a lawyer and a hefty dose of patience. You'll need them both. One star (only because zero isn't an option).

Hey ya'all try working for them is just as bad if not worse. So, we all feel your frustration for sure. Now I understand why the 3.2 rating after working for them.Thought it was maybe an unfair rating but 3.2 is actually being nice.

I had a very bad experience and I am super annoyed with Avis. After I checked out the car, there was no way to contact the airport office. I wanted to check if I could return the car and take a 4-wheel drive upgrade instead, basically wanted to ensure if there is inventory of 4-wheel drive cars available. Nobody would pick up the phone and the customer service rep said basically there is no way to contact them. The only option is for me to drive back 1.5 hours to just check inventory and then come back another 1.5hours.This is extremely annoying and frankly disgusting that in the day and age of 2023, Avis is able to get away with such bad customer service. The result of this was I had a very unsafe driving experience, could not even venture out properly as planned, had to cancel my current airbnb because it was snowy around the area and instead settle for something else. All of this could have been avoided had the Avis Airport office picked up calls. Such a shame for a company like Avis.Avis is one of preferred renters at Amazon, my company. But I will definitely warn my fellow colleagues on this harrowing experience.

My experience was horrible. As a note, I was asked to leave this review on Google. Our vehicle was not provided as reserved. It was filthy inside and out. The fuel was not full. The rear tires were extremely worn with barely any tread. It was not suitable to drive in the mountains with snow or in the desert from Montrose to Albequerque.

Do not rent from this company, and if you do, make sure you walk around the vehicle with video and the attendant before leaving the lot. I rented a truck one month ago, it had significant damage. I was scheduled to pick it up at 5:00pm, and arrived at that time. The attendant was closing up but got me the keys and paperwork. She informed me there was some damage on the vehicle. When I saw the truck, I found that it was significant. I went back in but they were closed so I couldn't make sure it was documented. I took photos at the lot, drove home (10 minutes away), contacted Avis customer service and a gentlemen took the information and said it was documented. One month later, yesterday, I received a text that I was being charged for all of the damages. I contacted customer service and after sending multiple forms of proof they said I had to go through the company in charge of collecting damages. I don't think they even reviewed the photos. I contacted the company, Sedgwick, they told me that there was no record of my phone call and since I did not receive a "pink" slip from the attendant when I picked it up, and because I didn't immediately go back in, there was probably nothing I could do but to go ahead and send the photos. 1) How am I, the customer, supposed to know I should have received a "pink" slip; 2) How am I supposed to immediately go in and report damages when the store is closed. I did the next best thing, I took photos and called within 15 minutes of renting it to report it. I did everything in good faith and this company has acted in bad faith with fraudulent charges. I have rented vehicles probably 100+ times, but not from Avis, and never again. I have never ever had any issues. My mind is blown, I honestly can't believe this is happening.

ZERO stars. I prepaid for a 7 day, one-way intermediate rental. When I arrived at the counter, the "manager" "Carla" told me all they could give me was a Dodge Charger (19 mpg). Carla dishonestly insisted this was the same as an intermediate. I told her I reserved an intermediate because I wanted better gas mileage. She was very rude and told me to take it or leave it. I told her if I had no choice I would have to take it but I would consider my legal options. At that point Carla suddenly REFUSED to rent any car to me at all - EVEN THOUGH I HAD PRE-PAID. She ordered me to leave her counter and refused to help me or even give me the phone number for Avis which was not posted anywhere visible. Carla, at the Montrose Airport Avis, HAS LEFT ME STRANDED. I had a prepaid advance reservation and now that she has refused to honor it, I have had to look for an alternate car rental company and ALL CARS ARE COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. THERE ARE NO OTHER RENTALS AVAILABLE. I relied on this advance prepaid rental and because of the "manager" "Carla" I am stranded. This person should not be serving the public in any capacity and I recommend that until Avis fixes this problem with Carla that you rent with any company besides Avis/Budget at the Montrose airport, unless you want to risk being left stranded too.

I had a joyful experience using Avis in Montrose, Libby, Kim and Anna were amazing and super professional never in my entire life renting from Avis have I ever had such a joy talking to the ladies there. Or the level of professionalism and customer service that they have. they should be given raises (I know my two cents isn’t gonna do anything.) I can’t believe what they have to go through on a daily basis with some customers the amount of disrespect they get but all in all they were amazing the one concern I had they were able to clear it up real quick, and they were able to give me corporate number if I had any concerns or problems. 10 out of 10 make sure you ask for Libby, Kim or Anna to get the best experience out of Avis. Sincerely, Riley Nichols

Absolutely TERRIBLE. Paid ahead of time for 2 car seats which they had already “given away” when we got there. Completely unacceptable and would not even issue a refund. Will absolutely never support this company again and would highly recommend against them if traveling with children as they obviously have NO regard for their safety.

Great experience. Vehicle we reserved was not available so they upgraded the vehicle and gave us a better price than quoted. Also experienced very professional and helpful staff.

I arranged for a rental car for one day, and it was a seamless and efficient experience! The car was clean, full of gas, and ready to go! It was a little under powered for mountain driving, but the staff was very accommodating and efficient at both ends of the rental during pick up and drop off!
