Be careful renting from Hertz. The gal at the desk was great it's the company itself you have to watch out with.

Friendly and helpful staff. AAA made my reservation during a Managers Special which saved me about $800 since I was going to be in Colorado about 3 weeks. In this special you do do not pick your vehicle. I assume you get what is available. I was assigned a Toyota Tacoma 4 door at the desk. Enjoyed it very much. There is a gas station right beside the airport for refueling before turn in.

We rented a car for a Friday pick up. When we arrived at the kiosk our car was not ready. We waited 2 hours for the vehicle just sitting in the airport waiting to leave. My question is why even have ability to book a car if there are no vehicles available? I will NEVER use Hertz again. I am going national from here on out. I have never had a problem with them!!!

Hertz is simply the worst car rental company ever... everything from cars that are filthy, smell, to deleting years worth of points without so much as a heads up. I have and will continue to do everything I can to avoid using Hurts!!

Avoid this place at any cost.The weather in winter can get bad at any time in this place and their cars have all season tires which are not safe to drive in case of a snowstorm. We got stuck in the middle of snow storm in March near Telluride and couldn’t get back to Montrose. The manager was careless about customers (us) and our safety, she only cared about money and how much extra we want to pay (towing service and then upgrade of a car) for our safe return. In the end we had to stay in Telluride until the weather gets better- and pay $500 for the last available room in one of the hotels. Do anything to avoid getting car from these people.. The manager of this operation isHer solution was to pay the towing of the car back to Montrose and than we will have to figure out and they have no cars available.

Tbh I didn’t rent a car, but when I left my phone in my SO’s car at airport drop off, they were so helpful & friendly in allowing me to use theirs. I would definitely rent from them in the future and recommend them to friends & family. Best non-obligated customer service I’ve experienced in ages.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews, but I’ve never seen anything as silly as this place. Our plane fortunately arrived 20 minutes early and we were subsequently at the rental car desk 20 minutes early. There was a $130 charge for the extra 20 minutes. I literally had to sit for 20 minutes to wait until my reservation time while the lady at the desk sat and did absolutely nothing. If this is a Hertz problem…it needs resolved because it’s silly. If this is a personnel problem…then it needs addressed quickly. Just unreal.

Please never rent a car from HERTZ. My experience at the Montrose, Colorado location ruined our family vacation. Paid in full for SUV. The two woman at the counter gave our SUV to another customer. No apology, provided beat Honda, dashboard lite up with engine, tire pressure warning etc. Really pathetic company. No customer service. No wonder HERTZ declared bankruptcy. STAY AWAY!!!!!!

I wish I could do less than zero stars. We were charged for a rental car that we never rented we tried to rent a car but the web site was down and the phones were down . Some how they still said we rented a car . We did rent a car from Budget and at the same time we got charged for a car from Hertz which we never rented. They must have used our credit card from a previous rental is all we can figure. Good luck with customer service or someone besides a robot answering the phone or emails . We had to cancel our credit card and get a new one to keep them from doing this again in the future due to the fact that when we disputed the charges they fought it even though they can’t produce any proof we ever rented the car . Also beware Hertz owns multiple rental car companies. Pure fraud and it has been 6 months trying to fight them and at this point it is not worth the time to get 363$ back from a robot .

The two witches at the Montrose counter did not honor my SUV reservation paid in full. Adding hidden fees and finally giving our car to another customer. Really terrible shady dishonest service. No wonder Hertz went bankrupt. Stay away from Hertz wish there was a zero star.

Easy pickup and drop off experience. I booked a car about a week in advance and they had the car ready for me (the car was actually upgraded from what I ordered). When I arrived they didn't have any extra vehicles so be sure to book ahead of time. Although they close at 5:30, my plane was delayed several hours and they had someone waiting for my flight which didn't arrive until around 9pm.
