Tomoko is caring, understanding, and a very bright woman who helped me get my cat taken care of. The facility is immaculate and I've only seen the shelter improve since my volunteer days in middle school. They host lots of clinics, and can be super helpful during a lost animal situation.

A staff that truly cares about the animals they shelter, foster's who open their homes and hearts to animals and help people and the pets being fostered an opportunity to bond and find the right fits, and an adoption process when those people/pet connections are found that is enjoyable and genuinely feels rewarding make this shelter/service the place to go to find your next new to each other pet! I can't thank them enough for the care they provided to our new to each other fur baby, and the welcoming and appreciative feel they gave us. The adoption fees are very reasonable and cover everything you and your new family member needs to start your new lives together. Highly recommend you stop by for your next pet, or to see about helping out if you just want to get your furry friend fix!

A true no-kill shelter. Works with rescues all over the area. Promotes spay and neuter clinics. We are so proud of our shelter.

Great place to adopt a pet and new best friend they have the most reasonable prices on the western slope and in the state as far as I'm concerned staff is awesome and all though it's a smaller shelter they take great pride in taking care of the fur babies

This is a kill shelter the staff an the animal control officers are terrible The animal control officers only care about their pension and their health benefits and getting a paycheck. They have no caring heart for the animals and the staff could care to less whether the animal is put down total lack of communication and very terrible people skills would not recommend and would give negative stars if possible

The city of Montrose animal controls lack of communication and their negligence they posted my dog for ONE DAY on the website in the adoption section after they had already killed him and then told us we could come get him the very next day because they were closed due to the snow. Our home is no long filled with the sound of your paws on the floor, we no longer get to see your face in the morning waking up next to us. The boys no longer have their buddy to play with and run through the house. The staff at Montrose animal control officer Shelly who had you euthanized on Valentine’s Day and officer Phillip who was extremely unprofessional throughout the whole situation not to mention his lack of empathy. I have only decided to post about this because I see soo many posts about dogs who are missing or out running the streets and don’t want anyone else to go through what we did. We love you soo very much Mayhem ??

Incredible place! I have been volunteering there for about a year and every single staff member and volunteer there absolutely love the animals and take as good a care of them as they would their very own. If you were thinking about a dog or a cat, please, please adopt!
