A few months ago our USPS mail carrier stopped delivering packages to our home. Instead, they leave them laying around the community mailbox row or on top of the mailboxes for anyone to take or to get soaked in the rain. I don't know what changed but it has become obvious that USPS in Morrison is no longer a good Post Office and their carriers don't care about their work anymore.

I live in an area that's close to Aspen Park and maybe 12 minutes from the Conifer PO, but technically my address is in Morrison, so this is my "local" PO... 25 minutes down the hill. Still, the PO itself is great, so here is my attempt at a balanced review of the operation. The Good:- Always very nice, polite, and helpful staff. Some of the employees have been here a long time, and even the new hires seemed to be well trained and have solid customer service skills.- One of the more picturesque PO's I've been to in the US. It's in a quiet area right outside of downtown Morrison with views of Red Rocks and across from a park with beautiful deciduous trees.- It's a much more streamlined operation than Conifer, which you can read the horror stories about here on Google. So while the drive here is long and occasionally frustrating with traffic or weather on 285, ultimately, I'm glad this is my PO and not Conifer. The Bad:- The PO will not deliver to our homes because we are on a rural dirt road. I mean... this is Colorado. Half the roads are dirt. UPS, Fedex, DHL, and Amazon-contracted drivers all drive right up to our doors. Why can't USPS, a local organization that should know the area better than anyone?- The mail slots we have at the bottom of our road are a joke. They are about two inches tall and only fit junk mail and the occasional padded envelope. There are only four parcel boxes for dozens of properties, and they are always full, so every week we get a pink slip that a package is at the PO.- Lately, delivery drivers from this PO have been putting boxes wherever they feel like it - including on the ground in front of the mail slots, or in rusted old mailboxes nearby that no one uses anymore. I'm not sure if they are trying to be helpful and have people avoid the long drive to the PO to pick up packages, but this is pretty reckless and insecure. I'd rather make the drive then have my package stolen and deal with the aftermath. Morrison PO if you are reading this, PLEASE do not leave packages unattended in the open.

I went in to mail my passport overnight and, despite paying for overnight shipping, it did not arrive to the passport center until 5 days later. As a result, my passport may not be processed in time for an upcoming trip, which has caused a lot of stress. I'm not sure what happened, but this is not a reliable post office.

This is the worst Post Office in the Denver Metro area. They consistently lose packages. Jam packages into our little box. Heck they don’t even know how to put the regular mail into the box. All the small pieces are on the bottom instead of being on top making it almost impossible to retrieve your mail. They have had a package since December 24th 2021 and supposedly it has been out for delivery for almost a week. They never wear USPS uniforms and are almost always rude when you try to explain anything to them like they know everything and you don’t know anything!!! There have been days when we haven’t even received our mail because the carrier never delivered it.

In the 6 years that I have lived in Morrison, we have only had 2 mail mishaps. Both issues were resolved with in an hour. My most recent issue today was even resolved outside of normal business hours. The gentleman called me back and I had my package in hand by 5:47pm. Thank you for all you do to get our mail delivered!

Theses Postal Professionals are highly skilled yet not sufficiently compensated. They deserve better. Way to go folks!

A trip to the post office is something that no one really looks forward to, kinda like going to the dentist.. sometimes you just have to go. That said, I have used this location several times over the past few years and each time am reminded why I will continue to drive a bit out of my way to do so. First of all, it has the same amount of parking as other busier locations. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, it has never been overly crowded; the longest I've had to wait is maybe 5 minutes. Compare this to the location at the Fed Center, which typically has a line out the door. No thank you. Finally, the employees have always been friendly. They take the time to look you in the eye and engage in pleasant conversation, which I greatly appreciate. Perhaps this is more of a commentary on modern life, but we are constantly rushing from A to B and barely take our noses out of our phones long enough to acknowledge others around us that we are losing the chance to have any meaningful human connection. Not at the Morrison Post Office! And so, I will continue to make this my primary postal location.

If you live in Denver and need to make a trip to the post office, it is definitely worth the drive to shoot on down to Morrison. With a view of Red Rocks from the parking lot, this out of the way post office is worth the trek. I've never had friendlier clerks or shorter wait lines. One time they even opened for us early during the holiday season so we wouldn't have to shiver out in the cold with all our packages. I won't say ever time it will be amazing, but for a post office, your chances are surprising!

I was very impressed with the customer service in this post office. Mail in my neighborhood seems to frequently get delivered to the wrong address so hopefully they can fix that. I recently had an important package not show up though and reported it to them, they had determined within a few hours that it was delivered to the wrong address and followed up with a call that night. The next morning they had my package back for me and ready to pick up. It was great to receive personal service from a place like this and I was impressed by how quickly they were able to respond to my problem.

Small town post office, they are not motivated but eventually get the job done. It's close to my home and good enough. If you want real service, do as I do and pay for FedEx.

This place as a whole has gone down hill. Getting anything resolved is an obnoxiously demanding task. We found out that our particular mail carrier isn't even a postal employee but a contract worker! This made us mad! She showed up to our apartment offices when the manager was out on property and instead of trying again after filling the boxes or coming back after finishing her route she went and checked everything back into the post office itself and left for the day... at 3pm as I was informed by an office employee. I was given the option to try and get there by 5 (we don't live close) or wait to see if she would actually deliver it the next day. Thankfully she brought it the next day.
