mineshaft bar, restaurant, and pizzeria at twin peaks hotel in ouray, co disclaimer: i worked there from 8/8/23- 2/27/24 so everything i witnessed is true! never eat the chicken. the chicken dinner, chicken breast, barbque chicken pizza, or even the chicken wings. i have witnessed co workers drop raw chicken directly on that dirty floor, pick it up look at me and laugh, and put it in the fryer as if nothing happened on multiple occasions. they get tipped off when the health inspector is coming to town so that's one of the ways they continue to pass health codes. a couple servers eat french fries off of customers plates before they receive it. they also said blatantly racist comments about me and was apparently "disciplined" yet he still works there eating off of customers plates and giving bad customer service to people. another server does it as well but he doesn't come back until the summer. mineshaft also has bad food storage procedures especially for said chicken. the chicken that is put on the pizza always smells rotten before it is prepped and cooked. always! as i stated earlier, i was fired on 2/27/24. i asked for a copy of the supposed video and still haven't received it. which i know i probably wont receive dealing with them. the assistant gm said she had to "wait until she gets to her desk" and that was tuesday. she also opened a debit card in my name when i first was hired using my info without my permission bc she assumed i didn't have a bank account. i know after this review is read, "they" or whomever will come on here and reply with a fony response because they cover up and lie about everything. but trust me, i wouldn't eat anything from that place. below are a few pictures chicken: bag of chicken that was rotten. that is a normal occurrence. dough: over proofed dough and i repeatedly told cowokers about pizza box: the "reason" why they "fired" me is because apparently they have me on camera dropping a pizza on the ground and putting it back in the machine. well we keep a cardboard pizza box on the ground just in case something happens. they were doing that before i was even hired there. it is the same dough machine that the co owner said that it was ok to spray wd-40 on the loud squealing dough roller. well that wd-40 oil is sprayed on the roller which then had wd-40 all over it which then gets all over the pizza dough. but i was fired for dropping pizza dough on a piece of cardboard. i've seen "leadership"do that on multiple occasions. the same "leadership" that drops raw chicken on the ground and still serves it to people. the same "leadership" that sells spoiled chicken to people. and i still haven't received the video as of 3/1/24 10:52 am everything i am saying is true

No service - cheese cheese and cheese. Maybe it was the offseason but we felt neglected just being there. I think the food comes from the restaurant next door.

We didnt get to try the food, when we showed up there were only two tables occupied and a man and woman at the bar, with a small group waiting to be seated. the bar tender asked how many, we had 8, his seemingly very annoyed response was he had to first clean tables, then seat the group waiting, and then he would get to us but it "would be awhile". We left. I dont know if he was the bar tender/waiter/host/ and possibly cook too? but the place was 1/4 full, 3/4 of the tables were empty and clean but he had to "clean tables" before he could help the next group and then us? I felt like I was on an episode of kitchen nightmares.

We had our meal delivered to our room at local motel. Delivery was fast and FREE ! We had antipasto salad and fried chicken. Both were delicious. Would definitely recommend this place.

Excellent food and service. Iconic area to stay at The Twin Peaks Lodge and Hot Springs! Scenery is definitely a little slice of heaven ?

*This review is just on breakfast! Buffet breakfast was included since we booked through Expedia and stayed at the Inn. We stayed for three nights. The room itself was warm and is in a greenhouse style building with a lovely fire fixture in the middle. I loved the coffee and the juice bar. So nice to have unlimited drinks that you can choose from. The food was plentiful and each day you had different options to choose from. There is something for everyone from fruit, hardboiled eggs, waffle bar, pastries, crepes, chicken fried steak, French toast. Very impressed. The staff also worked on Thanksgiving. I appreciate their good attitude and willingness to work on the holiday so, so many other people can have a Thanksgiving getaway. Overall 4.5/5 stars! :)

Service was great, the bar tender was so friendly. The fried mushrooms were so mouthwatering and the camp bird pizza was the best. I definitely recomend this place.

Wow...I was finally inspired to leave a warning to others on Yelp. We were quickly seated, but then had to wait more than 10 minutes just to get waters. There was a solitary server for the 9 tables in the place, and we placed our order the first chance we got, but not without a bit of issue. We wanted to order a side salad but were told we couldn't get one without soup...and then the table next to us were told the same thing. We ordered fried artichokes, a Caesar salad (no soup required), and fish fry, because the broasted chicken wasn't available. And then we waited. And waited. Now, the server was super busy taking orders, running down a long flight of stairs to retrieve every bit of food from the kitchen, and bussing tables. He did find time to strike up a relatively lengthy conversation with a lady at the bar through all of this, but that's just fine, as we would soon learn that the wait was the best part of the meal. The fried artichokes sounded like an interesting and yummy appetizer, but what was served was a variety of breaded chunks, only about 75% of which actually had any artichoke in them. The rest were simply fried breading, the inside of which was mush, likely because the coating was looking for a purpose...for something to grasp onto. The salad was wilted with soggy cheese, and a few rock solid strips of overcooked chicken. We had to grab silverware packets from the next table (no chance getting them brough out) only to find one of them had crusted food stuck to it. The fish fry came piled high with rosemary parmesan french fries, a small cup of cole slaw, and a slice of dry marble rye bread (not warmed or toasted...just pulled from a bag). The fish itself was presented on a piece of lettuce, and was anemic to start. The tartar sauce was initially forgotten, and we had to wait almost 10 additional minutes to get the server's attention to ask for it. By the time it came, the fish was lukewarm and fell apart at the slightest touch. I'd note that this dish was $17.99, and while it indicated that you could add the rosemary parmesan or sea salt for no charge, we were charged an additional $3 for it, making it more expensive than any of the delicious fish and chips I enjoyed in England last year. We were also charged $2.50 for a side of ranch. And to top it all off, my daughter's Shirley Temple came with NO cherries. Does the world have space for such cruelty? We were not alone in our disappointment. The unfortunate souls next to us ordered $34 ribeye steaks medium rare, which came out almost 30 minutes after we were served, though they got there at almost the same time. They were sitting immediately in my line of view, and the tables are uncomfortably close to each other, so I could see them aggressively sawing away at their 1/2 inch thick steaks. I honestly can't believe they didn't send them back to the kitchen. The small, charming mountain town of Ouray has about 30 eateries. I'm guessing just about every one of them would have been better.

Absolutely the best pizza in my 62 years of life. We ordered the meat lovers pizza and it was absolutely delicious. No other pizza even compares to the one we had.

Pizza is the more expensive in town. For one pizza and salad we paid $70+. That’s with forced gratuity at 15% minimum. Then they charge $2.50 per small ranch which they completely forgot to give us. And of course they would still get that tip even though they over charged and under delivered. I can’t recommend even if I was to suggest checking your order. Prices for below average service is just not it. Quality of food was 6-7 out of 10 as well.

This place was delicious!! I was road tripping and craving some real food and this hit the spot. I’m an appetizer girl so that’s all I got. They even delivered free to the lodge I was staying in because it was connected I guess. The man who delivered my food was SO sweet.

This place makes one of the best pizza's I've ever had. Tried several things on the menu all very good.
