For a small size city it's a well done museum. You get six exhibits to learn about the local community. If you're expecting a museum like in Washington D.C. then you're the problem. It's clean and affordable $7 for adults and FREE for kids. If you want to know more about the area and people who inhabited southern CO you can also visit the Pueblo Heritage Museum. They're both similar in their contents but offer different exhibits.

Horrible Staff Experience:There was a summer (2023) art program for middle school kids by ACES. With an Art Show at the end for family and friends to help build self respect, confidence and more.Instead we (family, friends & the kids) were met with aggressive and hostile staff members who kept telling us to leave because of another event they scheduled at the same time. We had to call/text people and tell them to not bother coming at all. So sad this happened to these poor children.Poor Planning:I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to put the art show in the very back end of the building making all of us have to go through the whole event giving the staff the most opportunities to accost us. When there was a clearly a room right at the front of the main entrance that it could have went into.Plus they should not have the pay table immediately by the front door blocking the main entrance for safety reasons. This event did not need to be this awful. And not to mention that the event was for 13 to 21-year-olds. Sounds like an legal problem waiting to happen.Definitely do not recommend this place and very limited parking.

You know, updating your event flier online is really easy and takes seconds.SO, showing up at 11:00 am and finding out the entire event was rescheduled to 1:00pm because of flier poster on the damn door is infuriating.Great job and sucking at your job.

Went here a little while ago with some family and we really quite enjoyed our visit. The attractions, exhibits and staff were really enjoyable. We were assisted with a lady named Marisa who was so helpful and informative. Every question we had she answered thoroughly. We will definitely be going back next time we visit my family in Pueblo.

Great small museum of local history, inexpensive and free for all kids. It's a series of galleries - one on the defunt Mineral Palace, one on the shifting borderlands between the US & Mexico (I hadn't realized it reached this far up), and another one about the Steel industry and the historic strike of the 80-90's. A Tipi is set up at the end of the hall and there are plaques about buffalo hunting and one about City Park, which I found interesting since I was there the day before. But almost worth the price of admission is the community gallery featuring art by Gregg Deal (which you might be able to visit for free - and you should.)During the summer, an outside trading post is open and there are lots of activities for kids, like a dress-up area & crafts. It took me about an hour to do a very thorough read-everything tour. Across the plaza is a shelter with a real archeological dig for the history of the town.

Small museum about the history of El Pueblo. Nice to visit, we walked through it under 1 hour and read almost everything. Some nice things for kids to do, but could be more interactive. It was a bit boring for my school kid, 10. Staff was very sweet. There is also a little museum shop with some regional craft works and a small art gallery. We liked the time.

Really disappointed with my experience. I wanted to rent out one of their creative spaces(open room) for my baby shower. I submitted the online form, didn’t hear anything so 2 days later I called. They told me they thought they had responded, asked about the date I wanted and said they would be in touch with me. A few days went by and still nothing so I called again, this time they told me they had the date available they just didn’t know if they would have a staff member available to unlock the door that day and needed time to figure it out. Fair enough. After another week goes by and I haven’t heard anything I call again, still being told the same thing. At this point I’m a month away from the date that I was looking to do the baby shower and had been in contact with the facility for 2 weeks. Another day goes by and I call again asking to speak with the director or manager, I was told they were in a meeting but my message would be delivered to them. Here I am 2 days later and still have not received a call from anyone. Absolutely ridiculous, and a waste of my time.

Super inexpensive for hours of history and entertainment! We visited on a Saturday and it was not busy, which was both nice and a little unfortunate. There was a nice exhibit talking about the local flood and a well done one discussing the local steel mill. There was also plenty of stuff to keep kids entertained while adults walk around. Overall, for only $5 a ticket and free for kids, this museum was totally worth it.

When we entered the gift shop and approached the Museum admissions desk there were two employees behind the counter. The younger one had her back turned to us typing on a laptop. The older individual was literally right next to the front counter with her head down looking at her cell phone playing loud music. When we walked up she literally put her hand to her face to ignore us further as if she were blocking us from view as if we would disappear. We stood there patiently for a couple of minutes, even started a conversation which she obviously could hear and yet NEITHER of them acknowledged us. I just about walked us out. But instead, said, 'hellllloooo?!' Finally the younger person turned around and apologized. She was obviously not trained on how to use the register and asked for help. The other person was horribly rude and smart mouthed to the clerk trying to help us I was embarrassed for her. That person should not be training anyone or working with customers. We were literally flabbergasted and it ruined our entire experience here.

It will take about 30min to go through the entire museum. Not very interesting for children though it seems they try. There is an outdoor "trading post" that seems interesting but it isn't clear how to get to it. You have to go down a corridor which looks more like an "employee only" hallway.Gift shop has a few locally made items but most items have nothing to do with Pueblo at all, not even the t-shirts.It is a good place to go to get out of the heat, that's about it.

They blame their volunteers for any and every issue, the adobe outside is not open to visitors, and things you are to touch are broken and are not scheduled to be fixed. I, personally, was let go as a volunteer, with a superb college degree, when I expressed interest in replacing a worker there. I was informed, even though video cameras were there, that money was missing from their gift shop register....It is a shame they have two video cameras on the register, allow ALL their employees to access that one register, but felt the need to blame me "without" blaming me. No police were ever called, etc., and I was never officially blamed.. I actually seriously doubt any money was ever missing either...I just wanted to replace a member of the staff (Sean) to benefit the community. Apparently that is a problem, especially after I volunteered personally to pay for some of their broken exhibits BEFORE I was aligned with a "cash register thief" scenario, that "surprise," Sean envisioned..But I ask them to blame me officially, so I can sue their junk museum. Libelous and slanderous comments are grounds for litigation. Little punks named Sean who don't do their jobs and blame others are just punks. It doesn't affect my career. Just your shi**y museum. So this place definitely has some politics going on. I would avoid this place like the plague. A lot of punks work here, but everything (typewriter, exhibits) are broken, and they never want to improve the locale for residents or visitors. I can see now why I wouldn't fit in...I guess I would have raised some questions as to why an employee is paying to maintain their exhibits. What do you guys do with the money you get?? Who are the real thieves here? Hmm.Spend your money elsewhere or ASK if you can visit the abode outside (the one on their literature that draws you in) BEFORE you pay for admission. And don't volunteer there unless you need to be a victim.

Wonderful museum, we came with kids and they were open despite Covid. We got a private tour of the trading post and thoroughly enjoyed the history and chatting with ladies who run the gift shop. Great place to learn history ?
