Went in to reminisce and buy some band shirts today and it solidified the fact i’ll be buying online instead. Look, I worked retail for years so I get how it can be sometimes, rude customers, bad days, etc. I get it. Today my friend and I walked without without being greeted, okay cool, maybe they’re busy no big deal, but the employees proceed to not speak to us as we walk around the entire store, while standing around talking in the cashwrap. As we browse I made a comment about being nostalgic of how hottopic was when I was a young teen, nothing negative just pure nostalgia. One the employees proceeds to not only listen in on my conversation, but make a shitty remark about my conversation and how “clearly” they still carry similar things in such a condescending way I genuinely put the stuff I was purchasing back and walked out because I was so taken aback and upset. This was the first and only thing said to us by an associate the entire time we were in the store too. Super disheartening due to the fact that I was a consistent regular when I was young, and until now i’d never felt that way in that store. Wouldnt recommend and won’t be back again.
