The covered wagon was great! We also appreciated the call from the office with after-hours check in instructions, plus leaving the light and space heater on for us. Definitely a pleasant stay, we wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Very convenient location. The park is kept clean and has grass and a few shady spots. They have everything you need and some extras like a hot tub and mini golf. Great meeting hall for our group of 12. The bathrooms are clean and functional. We pulled in after dark and had difficulty getting our travel trailer in the site. After 4 tries and moving a picnic table, we got in it. Helpful staff, nice people. We will be back.Rooms: The Kabins (KOA talk) are simple and rustic. There are choices of basic, deluxe and wagon, which might be fun for a young couple or young small family.

The location was great. It was safe and spacious. We loved our premium site with the fireplace. People were sweet when we got there. The park was nice for our friend's kids to play on.

this was the cleanest most friendly park we stayed at on our trip. Park gives a Veterans discount, which always helps. Staff were very friendly, putting us near the dog park in a nice pull through. Rubens (owner) was great to talk with, giving me some background on the park, & his desires to make it the best around. This park is wayyyyyyyy out of town, so no city noise or light pollution. Showers were great with lots of hot water. Nice big playground & fenced in dog runs. They have cabins on site. Their team leads you out to the parking spot in a golf cart, even offering to help set up (which I passed on). on Rubens recommendation I bought the most outstanding custom made TV cable wires I have ever seen. No more dealing with the crappy little nuts on the cables. I you can pass on through Colorado Springs & drive a little farther south to this wonderful place. WE WILL BE BACK!

This review is based on the average of our last two stays - one last week and the other the week before. For both stays (as well as all of our previous stays), the staff were all friendly, helpful and professional. We love the location and the grounds and have stayed here more than a half-dozen times. The first stay was phenomenal. We stayed in camping cabin #5. It was clean and in good repair with a great porch swing as well as a screen door so we could get good airflow. The cabin faces west, so there is a great sunset view as well as good airflow. It is located close to the social hall, which has very nice accessible bathrooms. For the second visit, we stayed in camping cabin #2, and I would have to say this was our least favorite camping cabin of the dozens we have stayed in all across the country. There is no porch swing, and the bench that is there is small and uncomfortable. There is no screen door, and the cabin faces north, so it does not benefit from the cooling breeze in the evening. It is located across the road from the playground. While that was not obnoxious, it did not lend itself to the quiet, peaceful experience we seek. While the mattress was thick, it was fitted in so tightly that making the bed was a huge struggle. The bed felt very short, probably because the wood at the foot of the bed stuck up so far. It was challenging to get comfortable. The cabin is only about 4 feet from the cabin next door, so it felt quite crowded. The air conditioning worked well. However, it is placed behind the door and under the one peg available for hanging clothing or bags. Naturally, we did not use the peg. The bathrooms in the front building are rather small, as are the showers. Will we stay here again? Absolutely! However, if the only cabins available are #1 & #2, we will stay elsewhere.

The Pueblo South KOA appears to be just your run of the mill KOA. However, the sites are pretty odd. The power pole is anywhere from 1 to 5 feet from the road on the side where you are turning in from. To make matters worse, they have placed 1 or 2 very large rocks in front of the poles, to protect the poles but only to add peril when you pull in.KOA leads you to your site. The older gentlemen lead me in and demanded by his frantic pointing for me to go left. I tried to ignore him but he gave me a look like I was simply the stupidest [bleep] on the planet. I gave in, but when we went to look at our setup, we were too close to the utilities to open our slide. We had to move a foot and a half to the right!!!Not sure we will stay here again.

This KOA is a hidden gem! We hadn’t stayed here in years and the park is still so well maintained with great amenities and just really exceptional service. With mini-golf and more, I can see why families would love it, but we also found it quiet and peaceful. Everything worked great. We don’t have kids, but our dogs LOVED the agility park. I had to do some work and the Wi-Fi was exceptional, as was the cable tv. We will definitely be back.

This KOA made us wonder if KOA standards had changed. The sites were gravel but very unlevel. They had laid sod at some point but it was all dead and instead there were tons of weeds. The electric pole was at the back of the site so in order for our cord to plug in, our rv had to stick out in the road and the site was so narrow that we had to be in the weeds to get into our rv. The man that parked us was nice enough but that did not make up for the price of a subpar stay.

This is not your typical stuffy KOA with tons of rules and regulations. Very relaxed and enjoyable. There were two family reunions going on and it was amazing to watch people truly enjoying themselves. The staff was very attentive. I stayed in a camping cabin while traveling on a motorcycle in the cabin was extremely clean. Everything worked perfectly.

My family and I stayed here for a few days while we visited the Royal Gorge, Great sand dunes and zapata falls and other areas close by. We were traveling with 2 vehicles when we started this vacation along with our travel trailer. Well, We had Issues and I had to purchase a new truck while in the area due to the current truck giving up the ghost. So we ended up having 3 vehicles when we visited this KOA. 1st world problems right? I know I know. Our plans were to leave this KOA and go to the Ouray KOA for 4 days then come back through here on our way home to Texas But we didn't want to take 3 vehicles with us to Ouray and back. This KOA let us store 2 vehicles there in there parking area for a small fee while the whole family piled in the new truck and headed out to the Ouray KOA. The vehicles we left there were loaded with motorcycles, extra gear etc. So I was a very nervous about it. I know campers/RV'ers for the most part are really good people and we all sort of look out for each other, but still. Then I met Allen, he is on the KOA staff and lives right next to the parking area in his RV. I got to talking to him for a while and figured out quickly that Allen is a good dude or as my teenage daughter would say.."he's a real one"!. He had great recommendations for the area as well, which we did(Zapata Falls is a gem!). Also, knowing Allen was right there where my vehicles were parked gave me a piece of mind. So, Allen if you're reading this...You are awesome!! I cannot thank you enough for looking out! Brittiany and the rest of the staff we also very helpful and kind. This place gets 5 stars from me!!
