The bike mechanic was condescending and uninterested in being helpful. This definitely seemed to partly be based in a gender bias. The bike we rented ended up being great, and the other staff were friendly, but the bike mechanic, he really set a negative tone for the day.

This place is the best! The owners and staff are amazing and so helpful, and they really know the area and the equipment. I've bought skis and bikes here, cannot recommend them enough!

I forgot my spikes at the hotel and needed some! Walked in and was greeted with a smile and assisted with so much care. Was going to purchase the wrong spokes and the fellas that were working helped get the best gear for my hike. They let us know of all the cool nearby hikes. Thank you so much for the kindness.

I first visited RAS in January and tried on a couple of pairs of ski boots. I wasn't quite ready to buy a pair so I held off knowing I'd be back in couple of months if I changed my mind. I decided I wanted to so I came back to RAS. Andy took the time to measure my foot and try out several different options to find the best possible fit and I came back a couple days later to get the liner molded. I had a great experience - everyone there had my best interest and were really personable, informative, and helpful. Highly recommend heading to RAS for your next pair of ski boots or anything else you may need - if they don't have it, they probably know who does/can point you in the right direction!

Just had the best experience at this shop, (I hope I am spelling this correctly) but Amin, was so incredibly helpful and kind to assist me last minute in a pinch before the doors closed for the day, this guy even had his coat on already and still greeted me with a smile and enthusiastically assisted me in finding some ice climbing gear for the next morning. I’d give this place ten stars if I could.

Similar experience to other reviewers with smug staff. Booking kit rental took multiple phone calls in under an hour because the person taking the booking kept putting the wrong information in and wanting to place me on hold to deal with other people in store, generally it's good practice to help the person you're with well rather than everyone badly. Why is there no online booking system, it shouldn't be this hard work to get a booking in place. Manager we dealt with in store whilst renting equipment seemed to bad mouth every customer that came in whilst we were there the moment they left the store, even if the problem was clearly their fault; they had told someone that their skis were ready to collect in error and lost their spare parts somewhere in the store and responded to them with the customer service equivalent of shrugging their shoulders and telling them it wasn't their problem, it was pretty awkward to watch unfold.Issuing our prebooked rental took a painfully long time, if it's not ready when we arrive then what's the point in booking in advance? When returning, the same manager literally ignored us when we asked "where would you like us to set it down" and just stared at us before just taking one item at a time out of our hands; were we not worth the use of words? At every level, I would not recommend this store, inefficient and rude. Junior staff member was polite and enthusiastic but obviously still learning.

Love this store! The selection of gear available and the knowledge of staff in picking what fits my specific needs is always top notch. Each time I need a new piece of equipment, I leave with the perfect option. I appreciate the welcome and helpful service of the owners and the staff.

My wife bought her bike from RAS. Loyal, committed, and gave us the best customer service we could ask for. Amanda was very responsive even when they were closed for the season. They likely could have sold the bike to someone else but kept their word and waited for us to respond a day or 2 after she tested it. Andy went above and beyond to modify the bike and let my wife trial different components in order to make the bike fit her. They didn't want to commit to selling us something that "might" work. Felt like they truly had her best interest in mind and weren't out just to make a sale. Thanks!

Best Introduction to biking for Kids!We were visiting Ridgway and the surrounding areas and my daughter wanted to get a bike. We found RAS was centrally located right across from the park, delicious food and the farmers market if you time it right, all the stars aligned. We walked in to a friendly welcome and immediately my daughter went for the bikes. The staff asked her lots of questions, let her explore,, made her comfortable and excited for trying out a bike. They set her up with a beautiful pink bike with training wheels and we were off. Thank you to Ridgway Adventure Sports for a memorable first bike experience for our daughter. She even walked away with a pair of Pink Goodr sunglasses and Mom bought a few items too.
