Expectations were average. However... after eating their delicious doughnuts and being helped by the friendly woman at the counter. This place get all 5 stars. Small town doughnut shop was a lot more pleasant than what I'm used too in the larger cities. I definitely will be going back again. ?? ?☕?

Daylight Donuts never disappoints, unless you get there too late and all the good donuts are gone! My husband goes for us every Saturday, and they ate consistently great donuts.

Not great! Well... at least not @ 10:30am. I wanted to try out the ONLY donut place in town because that's how I roll! Aside from spicy, I like my food sweet too. I've been dreaming of a "chocolate cake" donut. You know, the smaller donut that's fully chocolate with chocolate glaze. It can also come with other toppings like nuts, coconut, sprinkles and all that the jazz. I was really excited because it's a franchise and Daylight Donuts general website was looking pretty solid. I knew it was late but I thought maybe they'd still have an alright selection to choose from. Their open from 6am to 12pm. We were an hour and a half shy of closing time. I really thought I did a descent job @ factoring in our timing and the small town thing, but I guess I was WAY off base here. So, upon walking in you got your three older gentlemen seated in a corner table that didn't seem too friendly. We pay them no mind and head to the empty donut case anyway. There were about 8 pieces left. Nothing fancy and seriously, they weren't appetizing to look at either. I decided to get a few anyway because my kids were looking forward to it. I got two maple bars (one Bavarian filled & one regular) and a chocolate bar also Bavarian filled. The worker didn't really understand me when I said I'll take the two Bavarian filled and an additional regular maple bar so she stuffed my bag with two and rang me up. Not realizing that happened, I was still shocked to find that my total was $2.87 for three donuts. Little did I know I only had TWO in the bag. Thinking she made a mistake I went back up and she apparently thought I said one of each. Okay, whatever. So, I bought a plain maple bar to add to the bunch which cost $1.38. SMH THE REASON for my novel is because I'm just not use to the high costing donuts. My cousin even warned me that it might be pricey because they don't have any competition. If I want a damn donut, it's gonna cost me. Shoot, if I were back @ home another dollar or two spent would have given me a DOZEN. YES, $6 gets you a dozen FABULOUS looking donuts. Now, a little note on the actual donuts themselves. As I said, they were the bottom on the barrel and it looked like it. Small with bubbles in the lack of glaze. You can't really ruin the taste and I'm glad about that. The only downer was the filling. It was WAYYY too sour. I'm familiar with Bavarian cream and that taste didn't complement my donut. It was also lacking in filling. Overall, it wasn't the best experience but I will say that I wasn't there during peak donut time hours. I'll have to come back earlier to see what this place truly is about. Until then...!!
