Walked 3 steps into this store and the old gentlemen behind the counter wearing the train conductor hat asked my 4 year old to put a book back where he found it. Our boys were not running around or acting a fool, the old man didn’t even ask if we were going to buy the kids book. Why have a train store with kids things if you hate kids? The book was placed back where it came from and we left. I really dislike store owners that hate well behaved kids.

We go in this store every time we go to Silverton. We usually find a book or train pin or some old sign we have to have, and the guy who owns the store is always fun to talk to.

This is the cutest store for train enthusiasts with the nicest owner! We got our daughter a train whistle and my brother a unique lapel pin. Prices were very good. Had a lot of cool art and books as well. Definitely a cute store to stop in and check out!!

Robert was so nice! It was incredible to see all of the cool train things, the art things, the books, etc. I am not a huge fan of trains particularly but I still loved the shop. Also, as I mentioned, Robert was great! It was amazing to chat with a hardrock 100 finisher from years ago. Bought one of his books and look forward to reading it.

My granddaughter and I were there visiting Silverton this past weekend. We happened to walk in the store just to browse. Picked up a conductor rubber ducky for the four-year-old grandson. We started talking to the owner who was a very nice elderly gentleman.. He had started telling us about the previous owner a lady who Had passed, and had fallen in love with one of the train conductors. After he purchased the store he found her notes about her experiences. He wrote a book called train story diary. I had to purchase it. I have not yet had a moment to read it But I am really looking forward to it. He wrote it based on the journal he had found. He allowed my granddaughter to look at the journal Is she loved the little few Passages she had time to read. He also signed the inside of the cover for me. Thank you Mr. Boeder!

I would give negative stars if that was an option. The owner was so rude and his attitude was unprovoked.

I was at this store in Silverton, Colorado this afternoon with several members of my family. We were walking around the downtown area with our dog, as were many people. We went in the train store with them as there were not any signs disallowing them inside. Once inside, another couple came in with their dog. The man working said to them, in a rude manner, most people ask before bringing their dog inside. I overheard the comment. We decided to leave , as did the other couple. He said to my nephew as we exited the store "Don't let the door hit you in the a**** If he had a problem with dogs, it should have been addressed as we entered. Very rude and unprofessional.

Trains are not my thing, but if they are yours, this is the store for you. Old poster reprints and nails stolen from old tracks are many of the things you will find in there.
