Checking in is so easy. The bed is so soft, and there was always fresh, cold water right outside our door. We had access to a fridge, microwave, and all the coffee we could want. It did get a little warm in the room, even with our windows open, but it was a very positive experience over all!

It'd be nice to have a curtain for the upper window. Everything is preserved nicely, clean, and pristine.

Lovely restored hotel on the main drag in Silverton. The rooms are simple and effective at making you feel comfy. Everything was spotless and smelled great. The full coffee and tea bar was a huge bonus!
If you need a dedicated fridge and microwave, this may not be the hotel for you, but there is communal options in the aforementioned coffee bar.
We would absolutely stay here again when visiting Silverton!

Rooms: Quality furnishings that kept the historic feel alive without sacrificing usability or comfort.
Nearby activities: The Durango & Silverton depot is just a few minutes away, several OHV & hiking trails nearby, plenty of boutiques and eateries! Something for everyone in Silverton.
Safety: I never once felt unsafe in this town, nor in the hotel itself.
Walkability: Easy walks from the hotel to any of the nearby shops and restaurants or train depot. Silverton is quite small with slow-moving car traffic, perfect for pedestrians!
Food and drinks: As stated, the coffee bar in the lobby was outstanding, leagues beyond what even large chain hotels usually offer. No breakfast or anything, but that just provides a good opportunity to support other local businesses!
Noteworthy details: The preserved pieces of the hotels history displayed throughout were a great throwback to the time when this gem was built in the late 19th century.

I haven’t had the pleasure of staying here yet- I had planned a trip that unfortunately did not work out very last minute. But Shirley went out of her way to help accommodate me, and problem solve, and stayed in communication with me for days while we resolved my issue with making the trip happen. She has got to be one of the most friendly, helpful, kind people I’ve ever talked to! Shirley, even over the phone, is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever encountered!! I look forward to making this hotel my go-to stay in the future. Thank you, and hope to stay with you soon!

We had a wonderful experience at the Teller House in September this year. We arrived at the hotel on a day when the town was booked up, and the lovely host, Shirley, did her utmost -- spending over half an hour on the phone -- to obtain clearance to accommodate us in a room that had been previously reserved through Expedia by a no-show guest. We had a back room with snowshoes on the wall -- dark, quiet and very comfortable. In the morning, our car wouldn't start, and Shirley sprang into action once again, making calls and knocking on doors to find someone who could help us. Teller House is an elegant old hotel -- clean, comfortable and full of charm -- and worth a stay for those reasons alone, but what we will most remember is the spontaneous, generous and resourceful kindness of our host.Walkability: On the main street, close to all amenties.
