My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. This is the second time we've been to the Ranch House at Devil's Thumb (The first being an amazing experience). Our waiter was great, he was friendly and very informative and let us know the kitchen was running slow, so he set the expectation. When my steak was delivered (I ordered a 6oz Ribeye Center Cut), it was cold. It was the temperature of taking a steak out of the refrigerator and then letting it set on the counter for an hour. I notified our server who apologized and took the steak back to the kitchen. The manager came out and apologized as well and said they would 're-sear' the steak. So I had my steak brought back to me, and although it was hot, the steak I ordered to be cooked "medium" was now nearly 'well done. Mind you, this steak was $150 (6oz at $25/oz). Our waiter offered us a free dessert for the inconvenience. For the price of our total dinner (bottle of wine, appetizer, salad, two Prime Cut steaks, two sides), an $11 free dessert was not acceptable.

Beautiful, romantic setting and top-notch service made this a wonderful place to celebrate a big birthday. Food was delicious as well, though bacon bits on the spinach salad were tough and bread was too white and boring for my taste. Though we loved the salted butter shmear presentation!

Great quiet restaurant. Amazing views. The s'mores fireside was also fantastic. Wish there was more non red meat options. Service the day before was fabulous but this night slower than usual.

Delicious. Craving BBQ and they did not disappoint! The potato salad and slaw so tasty. Our waitress Marisa was sweet and helpful. Great dinner experience with my visiting sisters from out of town.

Both me and my girlfriend were very sick the night after we ate. We did have the tar tar and denver waygu and something did not agree. Service was a bit slow and the carrots were undercooked. Overall for the price and reviews I have heard it did not add up for me. Likely will not be eating here again.

Couldn't have been a worse experience for my pops birthday. Everything started fine up until we ordered. It took an hour to get our appetizers. The least of what could have made it better but didn't is our wine glasses sat empty the whole time. Then I had to request the complimentary bread that was never brought. Then after 3 mentions to 2 different servers it was never remembered to get GF bread for my dad which they said they'd get. The same thing happened with our appetizer which our brain dead server had to ask us twice if we had already had our appetizers. Then after requesting the manager, he could only claim their internet being down for their horrible service LOL! Complete immaturity and unable to take responsibility from this manager. The joke on it all was once we got our appetizers I got my soup without a spoon for 10 min and my dad's salad came out without dressing! What a joke. Food is not worth it and service for what you pay is definitely not worth it. Take your money SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you want to spend 150 on a small mediocre steak for some potheads and an unqualified manger to take your money feel free.

The soup of the day was the star of the show. It was flavorful without being too salty and had nuances through each bite. Sadly it was served in a large, flat bowl and became cold before we finished eating it. I ordered the pappardelle ragu, which was hugely disappointing. The pappardelle was overcooked and soggy. The ragu was flavorless and watery. Hubby ordered the chicken which had a thick leathery outer layer from being cooked and heated too long. Our server was amazing and he deserves 5 stars, but management let the restaurant run out of key items (they have a rotating house Chardonnay on the menu and they ran out and couldn’t even substitute for any other type of Chardonnay, they also ran out of their signature old fashioned, the “BAM”)

One of the best mountain dining experiences I've had. The building is incredible...

Such a lovely experience! Alika was an incredible server with the best recommendations from wine to cocktails to entrees. He made our night memorable and fun. The steak and short rib were both the best I’ve ever had, expectations were exceeded.

Terrible experience that cost >$600 for two...Service - The server had limited knowledge of the menu and was only capable of quoting the menu itself. This is a problem when one is choosing between $130 steaks and wants to understand differences/nuances. Also, zero knowledge of the wine list. Despite it being a holiday weekend (Saturday), the manager (who apparently knows wine) was not there. When we got to desert, the peach cobbler was essentially inedible - cold, no flavor, etc. We let the server know and she literally said, "oh, okay" (no appology or offer to replace). Surprisingly (or not), she didn't remove it from the bill.Food - The wagyu beef tartar appetizer was mediocre and served with what appeared to be Ritz crackers - weird. One out of two steaks was cooked properly and was very good the other was overcooked and marginal, at best (each was $130+). Given the missing server, we just powered through the meal. The side of asparagus was good - yay! The peach cobbler desert, was terrible - brick hard ice cream on top of a cold ramekin filled with cold cobbler.Atmosphere - So unfortunate that the Service and Food were so poor because the atmosphere was really terrific and I'd love to make this a regular go-to. I will also add that the cocktails were good, even though they took a long time to show up (after appetizer had arrive).Summary - Overall, the weirdest and probably, worst, fine dining experience I can recall. The fact that service was so incredibly poor at such an expensive restaurant was just astounding. It was like they were ghost walking through their job - not a care in the world. Alas, there's another steak place, certainly more casual but delicious, just down the road which will get our business going forward.Parking: Lot nearest the restaurant entrance was full and it wasn't clear where else to park. After driving around for a while, I just wedged in and hoped not to get towed.

Horrible ownership and service. We aren’t guests so they wouldn’t serve us (2) with literally 0 people in the bar. Horrible place will never come back.
