This is a review of the Banfield Pet Hospital located inside PetSmart at Larkridge. We are currently enrolled in dog training sessions at PetSmart, conducted by Nicole, and are quite pleased with the training she provides. However, during a recent visit to PetSmart, I sought a second opinion from a veterinarian. While waiting in line, I attempted to ask a departing veterinarian a quick question, but was abruptly informed she didn't have time and she walked away. After waiting for 15 minutes, I approached the reception desk, manned by a goth-styled woman in her mid to late 20s. I mentioned we were in the midst of dog training and had been advised by PetSmart's management to consult a vet for a second opinion. She immediately stated that the vet would not engage without a prior appointment. Despite my assurance that my query was brief, she rigidly repeated that an appointment and a payment for an examination were prerequisites to any consultation, all while exhibiting a noticeable attitude. Initially, I had considered transferring my pets' care to this location for convenience, but the dismissive behavior of both the vet and the receptionist has dissuaded me. Their lack of concern for clients led me to question the quality of care my pets would receive, giving me the impression they are only interested in their paychecks. I would advise pet owners to seek veterinary services from an independent provider elsewhere.

I don’t know if you just got new vet staff or whatever. We have been going to this location for four years now and never had a problem. However today was a completely different situation. We got to go into the room with our dogs and they took them back one by one which wasn’t the issue. However the issue is how I could hear my dog yelping behind the door more than normal. I know she tends to be vocal but she sounded in pain. When we left she had a slight limp. Now we finally got them home and she can’t get up without yelping. I’m not happy in the slightest with whatever mistreatment happened back there. We will never be going back and canceling our wellness plan because who does that and then to say oh she was vocal because she didn’t want to be left alone. Ridiculous. Please do expect a phone call when you are open Monday to discuss this because my dog shouldn’t be in pain after a normal check up and shots.

They had my pick up ready and bagged when I got there. They knew exactly who the person was who it belonged to, and I was early with my delivery. The two women that were there were very helpful and knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. I don't live far from there. I believe I'll just go there to get my pet food from now on.

I’ve had my two dogs on their wellness program for over 5 years. One puppy get sick on Monday 8/7, I called to get him in and was told they didn’t have a vet that day and did not know if they would on 8/8. I called Bansfield on 144th they never bothered to call me back. Dog was getting sicker , I called 8/9 and was told they couldn’t see him until next week. I’ve paid over $6000 for wellness plans and when you really need them this is what you get. No thanks I’m done with them

these are my beliefs and opinions.1) I requested a full scan of my dog, but they refused. After things got worse, I went to another Pet Hospital a month later who did a scan and they found cancer but it was too late to treat.2) I was verbally given incorrect instructions to treat my dog with medicine that ended up worsening her symptoms and killed her from causing her to internally bleed out faster.3) they talked me into signing up for a pet care program while my dog was still alive and suffering, while I was vulnerable and emotional. My dog died two weeks later and I was stuck paying the remaining $600 after she was gone.4) after learning my dog had been internally bleeding out, an unbeknownst employee came over and picked her up by her stomach, unaware of the situation. That couldn't have felt good to my little baby and probably squeezed out more blood.the help I received from Banfield Pet Hospital was lackluster, careless, and total BS. I loved my little fur baby like my own child, so it kills me that she wasn't given proper care and could've had an easier/painless transition out of this world. I'll never forgive them.

We have pet insurance with them for ten years now and their website for managing payments is very bad. Overall user experience is bad to say the least. Calling their customer service is whole other problem, endless wait times. Never buying their insurance again

They are nice but I have problems with them again and again. My dog has been on heart medication for years and will need it for the rest of his life. He gets checked every 6 months, and his precipitation is approved for the next 6 months. However, I can never get more than a month's worth from this Banfield, and every other month there is an issue. Whenever there is an issue, it takes days and several phone calls to clear up.The doc forgets to approve him for the next 6 months; his records are tied to another Banfield and have to be imported (wrong); he's approved but for some reason they need to have the doc look at something; it's always something stupid and the one doc that can do anything about it is never in that day. The next day, the process starts again, and the day after, and sometimes days after that. It's heart meds for a dog. It's not oxycodone. Why is it so difficult so often??? I pay you money, you give me my dogs meds. When I lived in another state, my local Banfield would give me 3-6 month supplies, even during the Covid supply chain issues, and if there were issues, they were resolved within 1 business day.

I have always had amazing care here and vets that seem to truly care about our animals. They would help us if our dog was sick and even took my sisters dog in to look at him after our dogs got in a fight. Since Covid, it's been a waste of money and extremely frustrating. We have their preventative care plan but I can never get my dog in to see someone if they are hurt or sick. They are so over booked that I have to take my dog to another vet or an emergency vet for little things, which ends up costing more than if I didn't have the plan. Here's an example. My dog has a sore I would like to have looked at. They advertise that you get free visits anytime, but the next available is in 7 days. So does my dog wait 7 days or do I pay for emergency vet for a wound? I think I'm ready to cancel.

We have had pet plans for our dogs for their entire lives. Never has Banfield been willing to look at our pets when they have an urgent need. Our one dog was seen by them for visits and never did they pick up on the fact that she had a MASSIVE liver tumor even after I had asked at her last couple of visits about her decrease in activity and personality changes. They really don’t care about doing anything other than the basic shots and dental work. Beyond this they are uninterested in doing complete care.
