Easy to book, fast, realiable, great final result (barely no markings left in the windshield) and covered by insurance. All in all a great experience.

This was a unique and unexpected experience. I've thought for many years that customer service in general has been on a great decline, in my opinion, because often customer service or common Services don't pay enough to attract really good people that are excited about the work they are doing, and I have quite frequently experienced that kind of customer service and I have always tried to not take it personally by putting myself into the perspective of the people doing the work.
However, the person that did my windshield repair, which by the way, was a warranty repair, so it was not a revenue-generating event, did such a thorough, thoughtful, and high quality job, that I was really in a little bit of disbelief. This person did an amazing job and then explained to me with the appropriate amount of detail in an efficient manner everything that I needed to know and then allowed me to ask any questions I had, which I did, and they were also answered.
The person was extremely knowledgeable, and before I even got back in my car I was notably and exceptionally impressed. When I got it to my car and noticed he had vacuumed the vehicle, with high precision, I had a unique moment where I almost felt like the Grinch, but instead of my heart growing multiple sizes, my appreciation increased to such a level that I really didn't know how to react. I then realized what a difference it makes, even for such a routine event, when someone does something for someone else with such skill and care.
I can only hope that this individual moves up the ranks and helps others rise to the same level of excellence. I think about companies like Ball Aerospace starting out by making glass jars, and then becoming one of the top makers of space satellites. Things like that are possible because of people, and if Safelite AutoGlass has obtained a level of excellence across their company that the person that did my work demonstrated, then Safelite AutoGlass may very well be creating special glass windshields and other projects for the starships and other incredible devices of our future.
I truly hope this employee is valued appropriately for his holistic approach of technical, informational, and customer services.

Wasn't going to leave a review but then started getting marketing information without asking.
I contacted this shop after talking to my insurance. Short story is that when I purchased my vehicle I got Gorilla glass. One day while waiting in the car in a parking lot the front windsheild just snapped. Gorilla glass does not cover that kind of break and only covers small rock hits. Weird I know but regardless we ended up using out insurance. I did some research and found out that this defect was common in Gorilla glass and asked Safelight to not install that glass again. Sadly they did. Yeah thats the short story.
A year later here we are again. Backing up to hook up a trailer the windsheild just snaps sending a crack up the same section everyone is reporting in the forms. I call my insurance and said I should take it to safelight since they installed it and it should be covered as a defect. So I call safelight and after gathering my information (guessing how I am now getting marketing adds in my email) am instructed to come to the shop for them to look at it. When I arrive the tech says that the crack is due to a rock hit.
I tell him that it was not there before and I find this unlickly due to where its at and my car. My car is a 2" lifted on 35" tire jeep truck. The presumed hit and origin of the crack is dead center of the windsheild at the very bottom of it. This would mean a rock had to fly up at least 4.5 feet miss my hood and strick the small section right under the washer blade. He maintains its a rock and pokes fun that I am saying in my short time of driving a rock "just happened" to hit that spot? So kinda calling me a liar.
I leave and call gorilla glass and go through a process of starting to get it repaired that way and am currently in limbo while I wait for phone calls and emails. So hopefully it works itself out that way.
However in the last two days the crack has now spread much further and guess what has also appeared? Small ding like chips up and down the crack. I plan on taking the truck back to another location on my day off and hoping that that location has a bit more reason. Wont be going back to this location ever. A shame since my past experiences with safelight as a company have been for the most part been very positive.
Response: Then don't put on or sell glass that has a warranty that you don't want to cover. As I said in the review, I asked for regular glass. As I am learning the warranty of the glass falls to the installer. This is of course based on the speculation that the damage was cause by a rock and not a defect anyway. Based on the forum posts this is a defect since this is where most gorilla glass breaks anyway.

I've had a very mixed experience here. At the end of the day, they replaced my windshield and honored my multiple warranty issues. But that's the kicker - I had to utilize their warranty due to the wrong windshield being installed and my sensor cover being replaced since they broke off half of the clips that hold it in place. Most of the people I worked with were very nice and accommodating. I was just a bit frustrated that I ended up driving to this location four (4) to drop off my car or have something fixed (eight [8] trips total).

I am most afraid of technicians who fixed one problem, but creates 2 other. After my windshield replacement, my toll tag was missing and my windshield fluid nozzle stopped working.

I always brought my cars to this shop for the windshield replacement, and the work and the glass have been outstanding. However, a couple days after the last replacement, the brand new windshield got hit by a tiny rock and showed a long crack. I was just a bit disappointed about the strength/quality of the glass. Now we have to come back to pay for another replacement.
