Excellent place to stock up your condo for a ski week! We found everything we were looking for to make meals for the week while out skiing Vail. If you're looking for suggestions- we bought frozen pasta meals, a rotisserie chicken, and delicious bread from the bakery for dinners. Cereal, Milk, butter, Peanut Butter, and popcorn, and a couple desserts. It all worked out great! Great selection & good prices (a little higher than home but certainly nothing unreasonable given the remoteness) Clean and organized & very nice staff! Pro Tip- Download the Safeway App before you go to save some $$. Happy Shopping!

Ordered ahead and all was amazing! My only issue was how long I took to give the young man our ID info for the wine. This Store is top notch!

I go into the Vail Safeway and have a very pleasant interaction with the front desk, clerks who point me in the direction of the manager for a quick question and some help with the tobacco. After getting my tobacco, Kevin hands me off and passes the buck to his associate who is occupied, rather than just checking me out himself. I didn't think much of it as Mr Kevin just started hustling away like he had lots of work to do. However as i wait and wait i spot Me Kevin by the magazines, curious what needs so much attention to disregard the opportunity to provide excellent and speedy service i glance over as im heading to the exit. MR KEVIN IS WATCHING A BASKETBALL GAME ON HIS LAPTOP TUCKED AWAY BY THE MAGAZINE STAND. He does not comprehend the idea of customer service in the slightest. It is my firm belief that every single associate in the store that night deserves to be paid more than Mr. Kevin, he is not a good teammate and id surely be upset if my manager was passing work off to me so they could go hide and watch some basketball.

We're from Houston and not use to paying for paper bags (prob should do it so we can be more environmentally friendly), but this Safeway does charge 25 cents per bag. We came to Beaver Creek for a snowboarding trip and always find a Safeway to get our weekend food. I will say their meat quality wasn't the best and not what we have experienced in the past. I felt like they had run out of a lot of options (gatorade, ramen) which was unfortunate, but we were able to get everything we really needed. Employees are kind. My friend didn't particularly like that he had to sack his our groceries, but they didn't have that many employees working. It was only about 6ish (on Thursday) when we were there. Food prices have gone up though, but I get it.

Safeway just fired an employee named David Martinez for reporting to OSHA numerous violations, including human feces and rat feces being around food products. Not only that, they put him on a "no hire list" and shared it with other companies. This is not only unethical and immoral, but also illegal. With the video alone Safeway can be fined upward of $100k PER DAY for their violations. That on top of making an employee homeless and unable to work anywhere else just for caring.

this business fired a man named david martinez because he reported the biohazardous conditions the food is kept in at this store as well as the expired groceries they intentionally sell. they filed a false police report so that they could avoid paying david unemployment benefits and put him on a "do not hire" list that every job he applies to can see so the man cannot work for possibly the rest of his life. this company and store is evil and corrupt. check out the video on youtube by josh fluke called "fired for reporting biohazard work conditions" to see all the photos, videos and proof and hear the story from david. this kind of evil must be dealt with this is a man's life!!

Safeway's self checkout clerk was the rudest person we've ever experienced at a grocery store. She was so annoyed that the sensor needed to be overridden because we shifted an item in the bag to make room for the next item. She came over and said "Jesus, get out of the way!" when she had to get to the screen. She could have said "Excuse me please" if she needed more room. She complained that she's been there all day having to override the sensor. They need to get better self checkout sensors that don't freak out if you move an item in the bag and nicer, more respectful clerks (at least for self checkout).

Extremely friendly and good vibes store all around!!! Huge thank you to Sinuhe and his positive energy. Sinuhe is always extremely helpful and kind. He goes out of his way to say hello to customers and offer help. Sinuhe always asks me how I am and is a wonderful soul! He is a very valuable member of the Safeway Team. I always have a great experience at Safeway. The team is always hitting home runs. I highly recommend this store!! A+++, 5 star!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!! Never ever go here. I got expired ground turkey, went back to get another, and they had more expired turkey on the shelf!!!! They refused to give it to me for free when I went back in.... are you kidding me? Red juice leaking onto my counter and my house smells like eggs but they want me to pay for another?ya right. I also deserved 50% of my $7 Deli Turkey, they didn't give it, went back in to grab another, and the manager would not give it to me unless I paid. 2=1 in a 50% off discount. Extremely appalled at their meat selection, manager, and customer service overall. Will never give this business another penny.

I just wanted to write this review because i just have experienced the worst customer service there. I do instacart which i shop for people. It was just another busy day and to finish my day i got this order for safeway and when i was almost done with my shop, here the associate comes and steals my cart. I didnt see her stole my cart but saw her putting away my stuff, saying that she had to put the cold stuff back in fridges. The cart had turkey slices and eggs. I understand that she is doing her job but when i first approached her after she finished putting my stuff away from the cart, she just completely ignored me, but i felt like she should have asked the customer (me) if i want help to get my stuff back. But instead she just kept doing whatever she was doing. In the end, i had to get back all of my stuff by myself and i was completely late to deliver the groceries to my customer. Probably getting my first lowest rating from my instacart customer and not coming back to this Safeway again.

I am currently driving from Denver to California for work. We stopped at this Safeway on our way to get food and I accidentally left my wallet in the restroom. I didn't realize until I was 300 miles away and called right away. Luckily an honest soul turned it in and Myra is going to overnight it to me in California. Thank you so much to Safeway management and Myra for going above and beyond! I am so grateful and appreciative for everything.

I am driving from Denver to Laguna, CA for work. We stopped in Vail to get some food and I left my wallet in the restroom and realized when I was 300 miles away. I called and Myra is shipping it overnight for me. You have no idea how appreciative and grateful I am. Customer Service here went above and beyond!
