I was contacted by the branch manager a few weeks ago asking if I would like some help shifting funds into a higher interest saving account. During that conversation, they encouraged me to apply for a credit card with Key Bank and spent a few minutes selling me on what a great opportunity it was for me! Cool, why not, I thought. My application was denied because I've recently changed jobs (which is fair enough).
What I take exception to is that I was actively encouraged to apply for this card (I wasn't interested in applying before this sales pitch). It seems to me that the branch manager should be fully aware of what the requirements are ahead of time and should apply that awareness before actively soliciting an application. I guess a few points on my credit score is cheap for a lesson reminding me that bankers are not your friends and are not interested in putting your wellbeing above their bottom line. So thank you, lesson learned!
Two stars because they did open a new savings account for me.

The ATM is always broken or out of money and I have to use another one and get the 3 $ fee that key bank should pay for.

When I entered the bank they assisted me in Spanish and I told them that I did not speak Spanish and they encouraged me to speak in English.
