I shopped for an hour, full cart, went to check out at 9:45. One checker open with 19 carts in line. Two self serve check-out lanes open, over 30 carts/people in line. One self checkout lane with 6 or 8 stations closed. This is why I quit going to Safeway - no employees to check you out. Is this the new normal?

Why is the meat department closed at 5:00pm on a Saturday? And open the damn west doors. It's a dump these days.

A large store with a mature customer base. Much different than the store we typically shop at, but comfortable and well stocked.
