Sierra is okay if all you're looking for is to look good while camping.
It's basically the TJ Max of outdoor retailers.
Serious campers should look elsewhere if they're trying to find anything other than an overpriced, name brand outer layer or some overpriced underlayers.
They have no survival gear.
They have no actual camping gear; they might have like tents or something.
But it's pretty annoying to walk into what is listed as an outdoors store only to have to drive to Walmart 10 minutes away because Sierra doesn't actually have anything to do with the outdoors aside from overpriced, name brand clothing.
Had to go to Walmart to find actual camping gear, which was a huge let down and a waste of gas.

Misadvertised / false advertising product and no reasonable resolution. I had a frustrating experience at Sierra that I think shoppers should know about. I purchased a product that was misadvertised. I even have a photo of the product in the box showing the mismatch.
I returned later that same day to address it. Employees who recognized me and acknowledged the purchase still would not allow me to return it because I did not have the receipt. That made no sense to me. They also would not provide store credit for the full amount I paid, so I ultimately lost about seven dollars on a product that was not represented accurately.
I asked for help from the manager, Paul, but he didn’t seem to understand the issue or offer a fair solution. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable, just to be made whole for a misadvertised item.
This feels like poor customer service and bad business. I would not recommend shopping here unless you are comfortable taking the risk that a misadvertised item won’t be made right.

Great store and prices. Carhartt, Columbia, etc. Carries alot of outdoor wear! Also other miscellaneous items.

I’ve been a loyal Sierra Trading Post customer for years, but my recent experience was shocking and deeply disappointing. I went in to return a lunch bag with my original receipt, only to be told their system showed it had already been returned. I explained that I had purchased two bags and previously returned one, but instead of listening I was repeatedly questioned and treated like I was lying.
The store manager, Doug, along with the staff, were accusatory, asking the same questions over and over and making me feel verbally attacked rather than helped. I had my receipt in hand, yet they refused to acknowledge the possibility of a mistake on their end. After over 30 minutes of this, Doug took the bag and told me to come back with proof of the other return—something I never had because I trusted their process the first time.
Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was unacceptable. I left feeling disrespected and angry. Customer service should resolve issues, not make customers feel guilty for the errors of their associates. I will not be returning.

I love Sierra. Great products at low prices. I've shopped here for over 5 years and have saved thousands of dollars on top brands. I've only had 1 issue with an order not arriving, but it ended up working out in my favor.
