The staff is so friendly and kind. The rooms are very clean and include a mini fridge which is huge with babies. The lobby is cozy and warm with coffee and a big fireplace. This is a central location to shops, restaurants, and the ski resort! What a great value for this cozy and comfortable stay!

Unique hotel with attention to detail. Stayed here for a night on the way into the mountains. Very clean room, comfortable, with a mini-fridge and a (flat screen) TV. Check in and out was simple and quick, which was great when trying to leave at 4 am. The owners went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect with our stay. Would definitely stay here again. Great value and location.

The Viking Lodge is definitely a throwback to the cozy, family-run motels/hotels of the past, which is by no means a criticism. Far from it; the place is cozy, unique in style and structure, and very welcoming. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was simple and perfect for my needs. There's a nice lobby which has a pleasant come-sit-here vibe to it, with coffee available, shelves of books, and a fireplace around which to gather. The lodge, while on the main street of Winter Park, can be a bit of a challenge to find, but well worth the search.

Clean and quaint at a reasonable rate. In the heart of Winter Park next to restaurants and bars. It was a little loud until 10pm.

Not a place I usually stay at but gave it a shot. The counter staff was very cordial and welcoming when I got there. Great location. There is so much shopping and eateries within walking distance. Loved that. The room however.... it was clean and comfortable and I slept well through the night. The wifi didn't work and neither did the tv. Wifi would never authenticate the pass code and the tv was never able to get a signal. That's OK, I gave up and just went to bed. I did like the lodge and it's vicinity and will stay there again. I'm not there to watch TV anyway.Walkability: Already did.Food & drinks: Plenty of all types of restaurants and all within walking distance, so once you park, no need to move your car. They also have ice cream right down stairs. It was very popular so get there quick. They closed before I could enjoy it. Shopping is plentiful and right across the parking lot.

What a treasure of a find in Winter Park. The charm and history you can feel in the building. Comfortable beds. Impeccably clean. Walking distance to many breweries and restaurants.Nearby activities: All that downtown WP has to offer.Walkability: Can't get much more walkable than this.Food & drinks: Free snacks.Noteworthy details: Free coffee and espresso in the lounge.

Their website makes it clear that this is not the kind of hotel thats gonna have a mint on your pillow, provide streaming TV services, or offer a continental breakfast.Regardless, if I had to get stuck at a hotel during a huge snowstorm, this is the place Id want to be. The cozy lobby had a neat fireplace, plenty of seating, board games, coffee machine, Nespresso machine...it felt more like a friends house than anything else. I really enjoyed it.

We needed a room because we were camping and got rained out. The room and Lodge have a rustic appeal and we were very happy with the room and the fact we found a place on such short notice.

The room was clean and the owner is very nice to the guest. The only complaint is that there was no air conditioning in the room.Rooms: Clean but hot at night until about 2am .Nearby activities: Lots of places to shop and eatSafety: No concernWalkability: Great locationFood & drinks: I would like to see breakfast in the morning. :)Noteworthy details: Great place to stay just need air conditioning. It is cool in the mountains and CO has had a heat wave but I would prefer not to sleep with the window open.

This is a no-frills place but they are honest in their advertising and it states such. The best thing they have going is the location. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are very small. The bedding is old, the rugs are older and the building is oldest. With all of that said, the location is great. It seems there is construction going on there, or at least I hope so, because there were supplies everywhere.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Viking! The desk staff was fantastic, the rooms were charmingly decorated, pleasantly rustic, and had such comfy mattresses--and the owner was particularly helpful, as I'm on a long-distance hike and had to figure out a route around a fire closure. His knowledge of the trails and roads in the area was incredibly helpful, and I'm grateful he took the time out of his day to discuss things! I also really liked the common room area and appreciated the free coffee. If I'm ever back in Winter Park, I know exactly where to stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy lodge. We were right next door to the shuttle bus stop and numerous good places to eat. The host was very personable and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Viking Lodge for 3 nights and highly recommend this quintessential ski lodge for anyone in the area. Its very warm and cozy, and my favourite is the 24 hour lounge with the warm fire, the kitchenette with keurig and kettle. I’ve had a lot of hot cocoa and coffee during our stay! Scott and Jill were friendly, and Jill was always giving recommendations to us. The room was cozy and clean, and everything was provided for. The location was great too, right across the road from the bus stop where the free public bus can take you up to Winterpark Resort and the surrounding areas

Just got back from a week-end ski trip. Scott at the front desk provided excellent service the entire time. I'm not sure if he's the owner but he was nice and accommodating. Our room was (2) queens which was perfect for two people. Spacious and had view of the little strip mall next door. Ski rentals are available next door at Christies. They don't have rentals on site. They also don't have lockers for you to put the skis in. You will need to take your skis to your room at night. Our room had several flights of stairs to get up there but once inside we were quite comfortable. If you can't climb stairs make sure you ask about room location. There was a smart TV and mini fridge inside. After skiing we enjoyed going in the main lodge where they had snacks, hot chocolate and coffee. The shuttle to the ski lifts is across the parking lot. There is an inside waiting area which is nice because waiting outside in 15 degree weather is not desirable. Lots good places to eat all within walking distance. The strip mall has nice souvenir shops too. We reserved the week before during peak ski season so our price was high. If you reserve in advance you might get better pricing. Highly recommed!
