Sally was fantastic with my son. He's 2 and has had about 15 hair cuts already and each one has been horrible because he has trouble with haircuts from a sensory perspective.
We had a successful hair cut with minimal tears! She was able to cut it while he played on the floor. Such a great experience!

My autistic 6 year old son was very despondent and upset even before entering the salon, and then throughout the haircut. Sally did a wonderful job making him feel as comfortable as possible and giving him a nice haircut despite his thrashing around. Being my first time taking him for a haircut I didn't know that he would react this way. The online appointment system defaulted to 15m; despite going a couple of minutes over Sally took care to address my son's needs. Next time I know to book extra time to accomdate his anxieties.

Sally was amazing! It was my daughter’s first haircut and she has sensory issues so it was important to me that her first experience was a positive one and it absolutely was. Sally was quick and patient and my daughter’s hair came out super cute! Highly recommend especially if your child has sensory issues too

My wife and I were extremely nervous about getting our son his first haircut due to the fact that he does not like to meet new people (aka Mr. Stranger Danger lol). When we arrived at Cuts for Peanuts and met Sally my son lit up and waved saying “hi”. My wife and I were obviously shocked but super happy that our son already felt comfortable just walking into the studio and meeting Sally for the first time. Sally was beyond amazing, sweet, and professional and took time and care with our little guy. He even went up to her after she cut all his hair off asking for her to pick him up!! We are beyond grateful for Sally and her services! We thank you soo much💕

So thankful for Miss Sally! My almost 2 year old son has not done well with having his haircut historically, and it’s never been something I looked forward to as his mom! This was a totally different experience. From only having one client at a time, to playing his favorite music, and implementing the various methods and tips she’s learned along the way, Miss Sally made it all SO much better! My son was actually smiling at times and you could tell he was way less stressed and upset than in prior appointments at other salons. Best of all, he got a wonderful new haircut that was MUCH needed - and he even let Miss Sally get some final snips in before we left. I immediately went home and booked his next appointment with her. Miss Sally also shared her expertise with my mom and I and gave us tips on how to prepare him for his next appointment. You can tell Miss Sally truly loves what she does and cares about her clients!

My son is 2 and autistic, Sally was amazing with him and us, this was his second cut with her and we went from screaming crying (which she handed very well and still gave him a great haircut) to absolutely no tears and a much less stressful time for us and him. With her skill and advice we were able to make this happen and make haircuts much less scary. Thank you isn’t enough!

Sally was wonderful with my 3½-year-old son. He felt at ease as soon as we arrived, which was such a relief after several unsuccessful visits to other salons. She made him feel comfortable, and thanks to her gentle approach, he ended up with a great haircut. We highly recommend her and are already looking forward to our next visit in a few weeks!

My son has autism and we took him to Sally for his first professional haircut. She was so skilled and so kind. I finally got to see why she is SO respected in this area. I was so nervous for this appt but he did amazing due to her knowledge and training. Our experience was wonderful. While my son cant express it yet, he walked into his speech therapy session SO happy when people gave him compliments. Cuts for peanuts is truly a gift in the special needs community and I will join the club of people promoting her :)

Could not be happier with the service we just got taking our 4 year old autistic son for his first cut. Was nervous beforehand but as soon as we got in the room and realized how knowledgeable and pleasant she was all of our stress was gone. She was perfect with him and it could not have gone smoother/better.

Cuts for Peanuts is a hair salon for children and adults. Sally has 25 years of experience. There are plenty of parking and it's located in the Old Avon Village plaza. It's also right next door to Pho to go if you're hungry. The salon is one small room which makes it cozy and private. There is a chair for an adult and a little truck chair for the toddler. There are a couple of small seats with toys in them for the siblings.
Cuts for Peanuts is in high demand because of the quality and pricing. There is a website to book the appointment. The standard haircut appointment for children is 15 minutes and $23. She also offers shampoo, blow drying, and coloring for additional fees and time.
My toddler does not like haircuts. This was his second time so it was expected that he would cry during it. Sally was patient and did a fantastic job on the haircut. My son moved last minute during a buzzing and there was a line in his hair, she was able to smooth it out and make it look nice. After, the kids were offered a sticker or lollipop. Overall, it was a good haircut and we (the parents) look forward to going back; my toddler maybe not so much lol.

Was recommended from a CT Autism parent group, and we were very happy. It was so comforting to know that no matter what my 4yo son did, it was no big deal, and she had it handled. I even learned a couple tricks to calm him down for next time!

Sally is heaven sent! Our son despised haircuts to the point where there were tears and screaming. I decided to book with Sally for a change. When I tell you our experience was fantastic it’s an understatement! Tucker jumped right into the fire truck seat and started to feed the T-Rex his hair! During the haircut Sally was observing and following Tucker’s lead during the entire process. Her experience and tricks changed our entire haircutting experience! We have already booked our next appointment and will use all of Sally’s tips leading up to it!
