“I have applied for a service dog. I was told I was approved & provided financial information. Everyone at FIMHF have been wonderful. Very knowledgeable about PTSD & service dogs. I am now waiting to hear about training. Apparently there isn’t a trained dog at this time. I’m hoping after the holidays I hear something. This a voluntary run foundation so I’m sure they are busy with their families for the holidays.”

“Nice place, lovely people work there, but one man that works there is going to cause them money because he's not a very nice person. He doesn't speak kindly of any of the things that sell there. To him it's garbage.”

“Because of CEDF, I was able to get both the resources and support I needed to open my own business, now 10 years ago! They have continued to focus on making sure my business succeeds with access to networking, education, and financial support. CEDF also helped me survive the COVID pandemic with their knowledge of available resources and timely educational seminars so I knew my options and could make good decisions. Thank you to everyone at CEDF and especially my business consultant, Fred!”

“Great half marathon today my 3rd time running it but please work with the city of Hartford on the water manholes which are smaller than a regular manhole I’d say 10-12 inch circles. Umm at least 5 were missing the first 3 miles of the half it’s a few feet drop of u look down them I heard a story after finishing of a runner doing the full catching his toe on one and having to DQ himself. Someone can get really hurt out there”

“I live in the men's residence program. It has been a extremely hard transition. I'm disabled but the new director Devine is truely goes above and beyond what's expected of staff. I was on the ground suffering in pain and Devine went got me medication and made sure I was on the bed and okay. I can't say this place is wonderful but the rec area; pool sauna lockers ect are well kept with a great community. I believe Devine just started about a couple month ago but has made huge leaps in the improvement of the resident program.Thank you YMCAThank you DevineShanon Moret”

I’ve met so many great friends and participated in some incredible community service projects over the years. My favorite event is Volunteer-a-Thon where members do 26.2 hours of service for the greater Hartford community. So much fun!”

“Best school in the state for fuel oil/bio heat hvac training. I went here, I've sent numerous employees here. Overall the HVAC program offered here is far ahead of the competition. I've hired people from other schools, and students from this program are much more advanced. Not only oil heat but all HVAC principals.”

“Adopted a ferret from FACT 2 years ago. It was an amazing experience. Beautiful happy crew there. All playing and super well cared for even during the crazy days if the pandemic. They spent time to help with lots of advice. Got a lesson on how to best clean a ferret’s ears. I was missing spots before. The munchkin I adopted is the happiest guy. He’s taught me a lot, given me heaps of love and I suspect has more to teach me. ;) And a brother and sister a bit older than him have made him even happier. Now there’s amazing tube wars, ball pit smack downs, and so much dooking and human laughter too. Thank you so much to Vanessa and FACT for all the ferrets you save every day and for giving me a chance to share my life with one of your special munchkins. ♥️He sends lots of kisses to you in thanks too. xox”

“I been hiking here since I been a kid. Nice hidden forest on the Middlefield/Middletown Border. The trails are always maintained. The State made a couple of structures throughout the trails - bridges, walkways, and signs. Great place for a hike, photography, and dog friendly :)”

“This review comes from my heart.. I am a partially disabled air force vet. Since the covid 19 struck i have had the worst luck you can imagine. I am 61 years old and have led my life with integrity!!!! I was laid off from my job over 6 months ago. I have no money at all. I was being evicted from my apartment and have no one to turn to for help. I am not used to asking for help. 211 referred me to Unite CT.. This is where I met Sherese. She is such an amazing person. Sherese takes her job very seriously!. She cares so much about helping people. Without her i would be homeless now. I insisted on thanking her publicly. She deserves all the kudos in the world. I just cant thank her enough. Now i understand why she is the supervisor. I wish i could do more for her. Thanks to Sherese i have a roof over my head tonight!!!!!!”

“CRT really helps the resident's of Hartford as best as they can and with funding provided...daycare program is excellent. My granddaughter came from a private daycare to CRT daycare...the difference is remarkable....CRT allows a child to be a child do normal playtime stories naps arts and crafts...meltdowns are gently handled with care and love.Private school labels 3 and 4 year olds as learning disabilities or slight autism. Or hearing issues...my granddaughter was tested by her own private doctor...she is ok no learning or hearing disabilities.CAUTION PARENTS:Always seek out your own child's doctor for private testing.Do not use the private school test educators they will say your child has learning disabilities...I cannot stress this enough.REASON.....so they can recieve extra money from Hartford school system. My granddaughter is thriving in this wonderful nurturing environment.Thank you CRT”
