I highly recommend Kensington! I have referred all my friends and family and I will not take my fur babies anywhere else. I have a friend who is a veterinarian and my sister-in-law is a vet tech and neither can convince me to leave Kensington, even for free pet care! Dr.C is the best. She doesn’t rush and is 100% honest with you. All the techs are fantastic and kind. You can tell everyone there truly loves animals. They even do care for wildlife. Not many veterinarians do that. We have had small animals and birds in the past and have had our care for them done at Kensington as well. So look no further and go to Kensington for all your pets! Tell them Rosie sent you ?

If you’re looking for a Vet for your pet you came to the right place. They’re very friendly and caring. I had an issue with my dog with ear infections and with the help of the Dr’s within Stella is a very happy dog ?. Would highly recommend this Veterinary Office.

Five stars! The staff and doctors here are one of a kind and always take the best care of my pet bunny. The entire practices goes out of their way to make us feel as if we are family. The doctors and technicians are all knowledgeable. I typically see Dr. Sinclair who is always patient, kind and thorough. I highly recommend this practice.

Absolutely LOVEEE all of the staff here!! They truly go the extra mile to get to know your pet & make them comfortable. Our little Petey boy is a high strong Chihuahua mix & can be a lot to handle at times yet, they still do so ever so lovingly! They're on the higher end price wise yet, in my humble opinion, it's well worth it for the incredible pet care you receive. Can't really put a price on that! They also follow up nearly immediately when I've had to call with a question or concern. Again, that type of care is priceless! Highly recommend!!!

I've probably seen all of the guinea pig doctors at this point. They have all been honest, caring and compassionate. Additionally, everyone at the front desk has been equally as accommodating and friendly. I so appreciate having them nearby and while I live closer to Middletown, I will go out of my way to see them as I've continuously had a better all around experience. Highly recommended for exotics!

I would like to thank Dr. Allison Bloom and Chloe for their help, advice, and patience! They both spent time with us and answered all of my questions very thoroughly and professionally! They deserve recognition for this! Also the front desk staff/ receptionists deserve recognition as well for their friendliness! The office and exam room was very clean and organized! The bill for the visit was very reasonable! We will be back soon for x-rays. Dr. Bloom was very honest with all advice for care and procedures! Clarence Michael Diamond Jr does have lots of health issues but I know he will be living a good life with all of the care and advice! Thank you all so very much! See you soon!

They were nice enough, but I didn't realize how much they insist upon/overcharge for unnecessary procedures until I went to another vet for another opinion. One of my guinea pigs was going through her water much quicker than my others and, without doing any testing whatsoever, they tried to get me to agree to spaying her. As it turned out, there's nothing wrong with her. She's just a weirdo and likes to splash the water everywhere instead of drinking it.

Our beardie, Tortellini, needed surgery and the caring staff at Kensington were amazing. From the first appointment to the follow up call from the Vet after surgery to the call from the tech the day after pick up making sure she was okay....we thank you.

I boarded my parrot here last year and had a completely different experience and got a completely different story than I did this year. Last year, I was allowed to see where the birds are boarded and was told that many of the birds belonged to staff members. The reason they were secretive about it this year is because they gave my bird a cage that was far too small for him as he has a cockatoo. The best and largest cages were taken up by the staff members who bring their own birds to work during the day and have selfishly taken up “prime real estate” for themselves leaving inferior cages for birds who are boarded, who then become traumatized and suffer greatly as a result.Birds belonging to staff members that were half the size of my bird were in cages that were twice as large as my bird’s.When I voiced my concerns at boarding time to a receptionist, she yelled at me and said the other birds ‘lived there.’ Some birds do live there, but many do not, as I mentioned before. The staff members are simply behaving selfishly by taking the best for themselves. For example, last year, I was specifically told that the macaw in the large green cage belonged to the receptionist.Last year, I was told that I should bring my bird to the boarding area and retrieve him from there when it was time for him to return home. This year, they would not let me retrieve my bird, probably because I voiced my concerns. I wouldn’t be surprised if they placed him in an even smaller cage during boarding as the woman who was watching the birds (who was ice cold to me) could not find all his toys. The staff members are secretive, and there is no specific information on the website regarding boarding standards such as how birds are boarded appropriate to size. Their story shifts and changes based on the whims of staff members who get angry when questioned. If you care about your bird, I would think twice about boarding at Kensington Bird and Animal Hospital.

One of the best animal hospitals in CT. Friendly & welcoming staff. My parrot has severe PTSD and the staff and Drs always make my rainbow chicken feel so safe and welcome!

First of all, the staff was awesome. I had to reschedule several times until I felt our little guy was at peace going into his travel crate again. As a new patient, they never wavered in their courteous professional approach and they are currently understaffed. Secondly, finding an avian vet in proximity isn't a given. Nor is finding one we and our little guy trust. Dr Sinclair was awesome, gave him the best Wellness exam he's ever had, and after immediately perceiving what a quirky little nut he is, won him over with her knowledgeable Tech. Doctor answered all our questions, even to the impressive extent of emailing me a follow up answer later that day. I feel we are in good hands! And here's a hot tip: they have a little store where you can get your feathered soul mate a healthy toy or the best pellets and treats for a reasonable price. Just saying, it made our little guy's day! Mine too...

I have been taking my Amazon parrot here, for both boarding and veterinary services, since the mid 1980's when Dr. Giddings ran the facility. Mr. Bird has always received top-quality care, and the staff (despite the many inevitable changes through the decades) has remained friendly and efficient to me, and loving and compassionate to the parrot. He recently suffered massive bleeding from a broken blood feather, and Dr. C. probably saved his life through her expertise and quick and knowledgeable intervention.
